If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend that you do a search and try to find your local "state gun forum", particularly if you're looking for deals on firearms.
I know there are a couple guys here on this forum that post over in the local NC gun forum, and I've been surprised at some of the decent deals that can be found locally on firearms from private individuals wanting to sell. I just considered myself lucky the other day to end up in what I think is a great deal from another local guy who had something sitting in his safe that he didn't use much in a trade on something in my safe that wasn't being used a lot.
Needless to say, you need to ensure you know all of your local laws when it comes to selling / buying firearms within your state, but at least here in NC, it's somewhat painless if you have a conceal carry permit or pistol permit.
I'm not trying to take business away from the local shops, but you may be surprised at who has what up for sale or trade on your local forum.
