Do your neighbors, friends, co-workers etc. look at you in amazement when you meet them and tell them what you accomplished over the weekend? You would think some of them never get out of the house and do/attempt anything.

To be honest, I think most of them don't get out of the house. I'd rather do things myself, not that I'm cheap but I guess you could call me a workaholic...I like to reflect back on all the accomplishments I did in my life and hope my grandchildren enjoy them also...

I have done a lot of things in my life but the older I get the less I can recall.

Like johnk said, a lot of them probably don't. I read/saw somewhere that people watch TV something on the average of 4 or more hours per day. Maybe your neighbors are the ones raising the average. I think I may have watched 2 hours or less TV in the last week or more.

Yes and no, All of my co-workers are mechanics and most are do-it yourselfers or atleast try, the ones that are the TV watchers are the obvious ones... their waist size gives it away.
I have one neighbor with 143acres that trains Labs and Kennels dogs and the other works cattle so their kinda busy.

The weather has been so nice this summer both my neighbors and I have really been getting alot done. Seems we don't quit until the sun sets.

My work week is actually a physical rest for the weekend...did manage a trip to Yellowstone and a couple fishing weekends but pretty much chipping away at the goals for the property.

weird, i was thinking about this today, for the last 10 yrs i have lived in apts or rentals in the city but i grew up on a farm and can remember all the back to my childhood not being able to wait until i could leave the farm and move to the city. now a year after buying a property i can't imagine ever living in a city apt again. i love telling people at work where i live and watching their deer-in-the-headlights reaction - "where is that"? and speaking of tv, i used to live for my hi-def and cable and spent more hours then i care to recall sitting on the couch. my neighbor is over 80yo and he still gets on his riding mower once a week and tends to his cattle. admittedly at times i think it would be nice to not have any projects so i can just do nothing all weekend, and then i look around my place and can see how in just a year i have changed this place, its amazing what we can do with a few good tools. i still don't have cable/sat and now that winter (and the constant rain) is coming i'll be up in the mtn snow as much as possible so probably still won't get it.. a couple friends at work also have acreage and tractors and we can talk for hours about our projects and those city folk just look at us like we are crazy.. haha..

cheers,
bigballer

Kind of a sad state when the only thing a person can operate is a remote, don't you think?

I watch from 3 to 4 hours of TV every night, and if Steph isn't on the computer, than I'm on while watching TV. If it's not a TV show, than I enjoy a movie. I might be more of a couch potatoe than most, but it's something I enjoy and wouldn't want to live without.

I only have one neighbor and he's out of town most of the time. We visit once a month at the most. Mostly to catch up on each other projects, but he's the one that we wonder about. His pastures are just amazing!!! He just bought a Zetor with a cab to mow his pasture. That's his third tractor and it's just to stay cool when it's hot out and he's mowing!!!!

I'm the little guy in the neighborhood and nothing too exiting happens around here. Othewise, I don't have a regular job or co workers. My wife is my only friend here, so there's not much to talk about to other people. Just you guys. hahaha
