I have been trying to figure out what ZTR to get and the recommendations from here have been a great asset. In number position is a Hustler Fastrac with a 20 HP Honda and collection system. I would really like to try one out though to see just how much it "sucks". In number 2 postion are a bunch of other great brands from Ferris, Kubota, Exmark to name a few.

Re: You\'ve been most helpful!

I just had a Hustler Fastrak delivered to my home today with the 20 hp Honda engine, 52" cut. Only had a little time to use it today, but cut an area in 20 minutes that typically took 45 minutes with my JD LT with 42" cut. Very smooth cut, and the engine ran flawlessly. So far, I am very happy with my choice, will know better next weekend, when I really get to spend some more time on it. Looks like it is designed to make it very easy to do the routine maintenance, too. Also, feels very rigid, I felt no flexing of the frame (the downside of that is that it does not ride as smooth as my old lawn tractor, but I will only have to spend about half as much time on it, too).
I was not used to a ZTM, so it took me about 10 minutes to start feeling more comfortable with the steering, and I think it will get easier with a little more seat time. Good luck with your search, looking is half the fun.

Let me know how it "feels" with more time. I am quite interested in your opinion. The other mower that looks interesting is the Ferris mower. It has a suspension to it. I'm sure though that it comes at a price.
