Z125E starts but shuts down

I have a z125E that will start up and run for 30 seconds and then shut down. This is as if it is running out of fuel. I have checked the suction tube for blockages, change the fuel filter and yes it is full of fuel. I am starting to think that the fuel sitting in the carb over the winter has caused some issues. I have seen where the ethanol mix causes the jets to clog in other carbs.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Also I have had this unit for 2 going on 3 seasons. At the end of last year I would have to keep the throttle at almost choke to run. I have looked and nothing seems to have moved with respect to adjustment on the cable. But this could be part of my issue as well.
Look forward to hearing some ideas before I take it to a dealer.

If it has a fuel pump better check that out.

And check for broken fuses....not blown ones

Yes, check the output from the fuel pump. You could also take a gravity feed tank and run the line to the carb. That way you can separate the delivery problem from a carb problem.It would be good to know the model / type numbers on the engine.
