Will be doing my initial oil change (10hr) within the next few weeks. Question is, how do you get the oil filter off without making a complete mess since there isn't enough room to put anything under it to catch whatever oil is left in it?
On other vehicles where there was no room I would put a cardboard "shoot" under it and run the oil out to where I could collect it in a pan.
If you have an end where you can put a rubber hose on, that works good also.
Yep, a milk jug shute works well too. The 2544 blows to change the oil on as well. The engine oil drain is in a completely rediculous location that boggles the mind as to WHY CC would let it set where it does. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
On my first oil change I followed someone's advice by loosening the filter with a wrench to where it could be turned by hand. I then slid a ziploc bag over the filter as far as it would go and unscrewed the filter by hand letting it fall into the bag when it came off. There were a few drops to wipe up afterwards but it worked well.
