Have my tractor search down to a Mahindra 6520 or Zetor 4321. Both seem to be very comparable in hp and etc. Zetor is a new (full warranty) old style and is much cheaper, $12000 compared to $20000.
My concern is the hydraulic clutch and brakes, seems to be a lot of problems discussed here about them. Is it older models, new models, or all of them? Does anyone have a 4321? I have not seen that model mentioned here.
Thanks for any help, am anxious to get to upgrade from an 8N Ford.

I bought a new Zetor 4341 about 3 years ago no problems with brakes or clutch or anything else for that matter. I believe the hyd troubles were caused by seals on older models, the 4321 have updated parts.

Zetor World : The world wide hang-out for Zetor drivers... has more acitvity.

Post pictures of whichever you buy:D

Thanks Barry for the reply, glad to hear no longer a problem. I do like the 4321, convenient controls, plenty of room to get on, two scv's, extendable lift arms, and etc. Am considering a front loader with it also, will be used on 96 acres in need of fence replacement, ditch filling, driving building, mowing waterways, and of course midwest snow removal.

I have the Zetor loader as well & I have not been able to break it. I use mine year round as well including snow removal. I have an ancient 96" 4 yard snow bucket makes quick work of snow.

I have found my local dealer very responsive even though my tractor is small (stands 102" tall & 10,000 lbs) relative to what he normally stocks & sells. The factory technician Petr is also highly responsive... You buy a cheap rugged tractor but get treated like a Lexus owner :D

Most of my attachments are sized for a JD A (35HP) 8 footers. Had to find an old 4x18 trash plow to turn virgin sod & was told by the seller my tractor was too small - the Zetor pulled it in 5th gear & only ran out of traction not power.

That's a lot of snow and a lot of plow. I can't imagine putting that plow to southern iowa soils. The 4321 I'm looking at is 2wd and no cab, my wife says don't do it, get 4wd and a cab. Seeing yours makes me interested, don't think the dealer here has any at this time. He has a new Proxima 7421 with cab but still 2wd. It also has the shuttle shift where as the 4321 doesn't. Can buy that one for $21500.

Well between you and your wife I'll do my best Dr Phil impression and say "Do you really want to argue with your wife about tractors when you know she's _____."

Zetor cabs are large enough for a buddy seat so you can ride along in her tractor.

The Zetor loader is strong & you need weight on the back of the tractor to hold the tail down. I bought 4 wheel weights with tractor & will probably buy 4 more (max capacity.) In the mean time I stuck a cat 1 drawbar thru a 55g barrel & filled it with rebar & concrete. It works as long as I remember to go and get it on first.

My place takes 4 continuous hours with a open station 2wd tlb to clear snow. After getting the MFWD Zetor it takes 45 mins and the snow shovels are rusting in the barn because I can place the bucket lip right up to steps, garage doors, etc where the slipping & slidin 2wd would crash thru so I stay 3' away.

If you get a cab also check into a grapple so you minimize climbing in & out. Drive up, chomp down, haul away. Loader takes 2 mins off & on.

Dealer inventory is low because all your neighbors sold off their $4.25 corn & bought new 4wd's:)

Worst thing about a cab tractor is she won't need new outfits as the T-shirt & jeans for bush hogging is the same as snow clearing :D

You are right on all counts, I'd probably be like the guy in the lawn mower commercial "Is it my turn yet".
I traveled down to the dealer he didn't have any 4wd tractors in Zetor. He also has TYM and Landini, he had 4wd in both of those, the TYM was too small, the Landini just didn't seem up to the Zetors. I'll be patient and watch for the right one.

I hear you I took my time finding a new tractor - about 2 years. Lots of options out there. I only looked at used until that new Zetor showed on the radar screen, $10K less than used Deere and $20k under new Massy, Deere & NH costs.

Just tolerated the JD A and bought other equipment first. The piece that gets most requests is a small JD dozer backhoe. Friends & relatives want lots cleared, ponds built etc. I initially bought the tracked machine to drag stuck stuff out of the mud & drain tile around house.

What part of IA you in? I spent 2 winters in Winterset before they got famous.

I had one of the older ones and had all the problems already discussed , but it was a very good tractor with all that said, very powerful and very fuel efficient even for all the weight it carries. The farmers in my area gave up on them so the dealer went belly up leaving me with no service so I sold it.If Zetor had done their homework first and taken care of the little problems they were having they would have had a much better chance of making the farmers a believer in a good product here in the U.S. and the dealers in my area would probably still be in business.I now have a Kubota of the same HP and size and only half the weight and it still burns more fuel.If you can find a good dealer that is worth its weight in gold for whatever brand you buy.
Good Luck

Yes, I will definately shop around. I'm not familiar with this Zetor dealer, mom and pop operation in a small small town (Pleasanton) about 50 miles from me. Seems to know his product and is very nice. I know Winterset well, I'm only about 30 miles from there. I live 4 miles NW of Osceola, Ia. I have some relatives who live in Winterset.
I still have the 8N and a H Farmall, so I can get by until I find something.
