Hi all,

Just a note to say the FEL is now installed on the tractor.
A couple of things that have to be sorted out are:

1) the standard exhaust is too fat to fit between loader outside upright and hood and give sufficient clearance to the hydrulic hoses. I need to make a new one out of 1 1/2" pipe welded to a flange.
2) had to re-route some hoses to clear the exhaust manifold area.
3) so far the FEL movement speed is much slower than it should be. I attribute this to a couple of things - oil being a bit on the thick side especially when cold (needs to be changed to thinner oil), initially some air in the system and possibly oil filter clogging up with debris.

I finished it last night and only ran the tractor for a short while to check operation and look for leaks (I just stuck a piece of 1 1/4" into exhaust flange to be able to use tractor). FEL worked fine, but slow and no sign of leaks just yet - QD's look good at this time. I did manage to overfill the hydraulics and spill some oil when I lowered bucket :-(

Going to fab up a new exhaust today and also a couple of clamps to keep hydraulic hoses away from exhaust area.

The problem with the exhaust is the intermediate elbow ( "L" shaped piece on it's side) between the exhaust manifold on the engine and outside upright for the loader on the exhaust side. The intermediate piece is 8" long and should only be 6" long to fit properly (engine flange face to centre of vertical pipe). The extra 2" puts it hard up against the upright support and does not allow the regular exhaust to be fitted as supplied.

For expidiency I will make one up out of 1.5" sch.40 black pipe, using a 90 degree elbow, 5" nipple, Blank flange and 48" long vertical piece. Fitted as Flange to manifold, nipple in flange and 90 on end of nipple (open end facing up) and 48" into 90 for the upright/vertical piece. Can be butt welded or threaded. Flange needs to be made with 4 7/16"dia holes on 3.5" PCD (I think). Doing this allows the original intermediate piece to be used without mods, if the loader is removed. Or, cutting the original intermediate piece and remove 2" and reweld (is cast material though).

In the meantime I will emailthe factory and supplier to let them know of this problem (they might already know but it didn't reach the shop floor just yet.

Hope this is not too complicated and confusing.

I just spoke to factory... They know of this problem and do have a fix. :)

Just for S's and giggles... What if you turned it 90 degrees to the front?

Hi everyone,

Just a note to say that Jinma sent me a replacement intermediat exhaust pipe free of charge. It is 2" shorter in length than the old one and fits abour where it should be. It arrived yesterday morning.
Jinma is listening to it's customers and their concerns and that I find, very comforting.

A year or more (3)ago I ordered a exhaust pipe to make my machine exhaust under the tractor. They sent me a pipe with four bolt flanges at each end and pipe welded at 45 degrees. It would of worked great except my Jinma has 2 bolt flanges.Have you thought of turning the elbow down and making it an under tractor exhaust.
I have pictures of the pipe. But don't know how to load em on this site. but can send them by "E"mail.
It's avail to anyone who wants to pay the shipping!

Not sure what it is for?? I wanted one for a Jinma 284 to make it a bottom exhaust and that's what they sent me.
when I get to the garage tomorrow I'll see if there is any part number? for whatever good they are??
