Howdy, Ted. I have a Kubota Grand L3130 with LA723 loader, HD round-back bucket, and filled R4 tires. Total weight should be something around 5800-5900 pounds, but I am not sure about the weight of the tires. The dealer said 1200# filled, but I have not seen a figure that high on TBN. Outside tread to outside tread measures 72 inches.

We recently had about 13 acres newly cleared/stumped; quite a few pockets of trees have been left here and there. I want to disc this area for planting cover crops or mixed grasses. On other parts of the property, I will want to disc a number of food plots over time.

This is southern NH. We do not lack for rocks.

We also will have a 2800-ft gravel drive to maintain.

I am looking for recommendations on
1) Disc harrow
2) landscape rake
3) box blade

I see that your disc harrows have different blade diameters. What are the considerations for 16 vs. 18 vs. 20?

BTW, the email contact address on your website must have some issues, as two emails in the last month have gone unanswered.

thanks, bws

Ok, your weight by my calculations is about 5400 hundred pounds, and this is no biggy, Here are my recommendations factoring in your intended use and conditions.

Disc Harrow - LB-B245-16-18
7ft Landscaping Rake - so you can angle and still cover full tractor width
6ft HD Box Blade

Where EXACTLY did you try to email from, the contact us form? Let me know and I will beat my internet guy over the head with it and get it fixed asap.

We just posted a New Demo Video up on our YouTube Channel. This one features a Tractor 3pt Hitch Land Leveler, and I was pretty impressed with the results after about 5 passes.

Check out the video if you haven't ever used one of these. Would work great on a LONG gravel road.

Nice video!! O' crap I want a land leveler now!

I really couldn't believe how easy it was to use. Peanut said that he only had to lift it twice to let out some of that Rip Rap that was under there:) and to turn around. . . . and on a long road, that isn't very many times.

Once we had it adjusted so that both blades were working, it was a set it and forget it tool instead of one that will wear you out lifting like a box blade would for something like leveling a long gravel road.

In the video, you mention taking the crown out and making it level. A well made road has a crown in the middle so that water does not collect, but rather run to the edges. It is a nice unit and I would get one if I had a long driveway to maintain, but I would create a crown and make sure I had drainage.

Thanks for sponsoring.. (I am near Spokane, WA and by the time I add shipping, I can not justify it. Have you considered a west coast distribution center?)

Thanks, Ted. That's what I needed.

I used your contact us form several weeks ago and apparently y'all never got the message. Tried again, umm, last week, I think, same thing. Just thought you might want to check it out, in case something is dropping the mail.

I ordered the L7200 JR PHD for my B3200 around 11 am yesterday from Everything Attachments and it is being delivered today, that is great action. Although I am in NW S.C. that's still fast delivery.

I'm not a road maintenance expert but my father was a superintended for over 30 years for a large public works in Maine. He agreed normally it's best to keep a minor crown in the road to help it drain water if there is enough material, gravel, in the road bed. Land leveler should still work just drag it so it pulls the loose gravel along the blades to the center of the road. The other thing he point out to me is puddling in a gravel road is caused by poor drainage. Even roads with a correct crown and ditching can get puddles if heavy traffic compresses the gravel base and causes an uneven surface. If water start to puddle this will cause more fines to settle in the bottom of the puddles refer restricting water drainage through the gravel. Just filling the puddle holes will not fix the problem. To fix the problem areas the gravel needs to be loosen up or dug up and refilled. Using just the ripping shanks on a box blade should do the trick then use the land leveler to finish the surface. Hopefully I relayed the information correctly.

Ted,
Will the wheel weights you sell fit on a Kioti DK40SE with industrial tires? Thanks

My Internet guy is working on creating a new Contact Form for the site that will work the way it is supposed to. Thanks for the heads up, no telling what we have been missing by this thing only working sometimes.
