I purchase a woods rotary cutter the other month and just used it where it was ready to grease and was going to check slip click too. I cannot find the slip clutch, which i purchased and even has it written on invoice. I was looking on the drive right around the knuckle near gear box. I looked on other end too and see nothing that resembles the cluch in the manual. i see the shear bolt? I'm going to call dealer where I bought it but is there somewhere else i should be looking for this?

I was looking through the Woods brochure and I saw some of their rotary cutters come with shearpins and the slip clutch is optional.

If it doesn't have a big round thing in front of the gear box that turns with the PTO shaft, they messed up.

I called the dealer and he is trying to tell me the slip clutch is built into the gear box?? Its Model BB60CK0. This does not make sensce to me? I cannot see how to adjust if in gear box? Are all slip clutches on the PTO saft is it possible to be in gearbox?

I had a BB60, and it has a shear pin. I was under the impression you couldn't get a slip clutch on the BB60 at that time. I traded it for a BB72, which had a standard slip clutch.

I smell a rat! Just to be on the safe side, I went to Woodsonline and went through ALL the 60" cutters they've sold in the last 25 years. (manuals and parts lists) There was no such critter as an "internal slip clutch" (Didn't think so, but better to make certain.....)

ALL the slip clutches they've used are the same basic design as every other brand on the market. It SHOULD be at the tail end of the PTO shaft, right in FRONT of the gear box.

If your dealer knows of such a model that's different than any Woods claims as their own, tell him to show you a manual or parts schematic. I doubt he can produce such.

If I was you, I'd make contact with Woods (at Woods Equipment Company) and then let your dealer know you're serious about getting what you paid for.

He's trying to bluff his way through this one.

Thanks, yeah i think he was just trying to hope i'd accept it was in gear box and leave at that. I did e-mail Woods and when they return e-mail with most likely what you said, its on the driveline near gear box, i'll forward to dealer.
When i was buying it he made big issue on why I should go with slip clutch so ironic it does not have one. I can see honest mistake in forgeting to put it on, little upset he is trying to tell me its in gearbox. I can even think how he'd think i would never find out.

Yeah i guess its and option, at least i know its advalible for it.

My invoice says 'Woods 5' Brush Mower with Slip Clutch', so i magine they will have to get the option for me at no charge. i just have to prove to him I did not get it. Hopefully woods will return e-mail with info i need.
