DK40SE Squeal When Moving in Reverse.

It was just a thought I wish I had a few months ago when I started following this thread. For around $10 you may sleep better at night. I just changed the trans fluid and filter in my DK45, The drain plug has such a powerful magnet in it that it is a little difficult to put back in. I was very impressed with the design, The hydraulic filter has the same in the stem on the filter housing. I had a few filings on drain plug, but I do not know how long this fluid has been in there. The filter is the next best place to check and I plan to cut the HST open in the next day or two.

The place I'd want to take a sample of the UTF is where it drains out at the bottom of the sump. Though cutting your HST in half might prove to be an interesting feat, I suspect you mean to actually cut your HST FILTER in half and inspect for any signs of something abnormal.:)
I seriously doubt you will see anything related to the squeal in reverse issue by inspecting the filter innards, but I could easily be wrong.
I am curious why you don't know how long the fluid has been in the sump- is your tractor something you bought used?

Great New & about F@@@ time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm just a little tired of Kioti ignore of my letters, it very disrespectful.

My selling dealer just got auction off, it was a Big party! I have no regrets feeding on the carcass. http://www.keenanauction.com/auction.cgi?&i=2377

Do you know if this will fix the low pressure at the reverse HST test port, noted previously in this thread?

Thanks

NEWS from KIOTI: I spoke with Kioti in SC.
They have been working in conjunction with Daedong to find resolution to the 'squeal in reverse' issues and here is the latest.
They have come up with an updated line for the left side of the tractor hydraulics lines from the filter to the HST. This is NOT to be confused with the initial 'fix' pieces which were installed on some tractors as a diagnostic means of determining exactly where the problem originated from. It is being referred to as and 'attenuator'

Happy New Year to all, in advance.

CM out.

Why then is the HST reverse test port pressure lower then recommend in the service manual? This is not special to my tractor but seem to be a common sympton to the tractors with this issue.

I really wish that everyone would understand that the issue with the HST squeeling is totally a HARMONIS ISSUE only, I want to ask everyone who has had this issue for a legthy period of time and would like a honest answer.

1. Has your HST failed due to this noise?
2. Has there been any performance issues?
3. Other than the harmonic noise are you satisfied with your tractor (leave dealer expierence out)

SQUEAL NOISE FIXED!!
As of yesterday, when my selling dealer installed the new Kioti manufactured hose and replacement banjo bolt the squeal is NON-existant! YEAH!!!
And to all naysayers who cried 'whiners' to those of us experiencing the squeal, let me just say two things: 1. if there was no apparent noise then how come the noise instantly disappeared when the updated hose/bolt was installed with out doing anything else to the tractor?!
2. This noise has been apparent since ten hours and now at 399 hours is GONE.

Thanks Kioti/Daedong! My ears thank you! My neighbors thank you!:D

If any readers here are or have been experiencing the squeal/noise when in reverse, contact your selling dealer and ask them to order the kit which is now finally available through Kioti headquarters parts dept.

I don't recall the naysayers denying the noise. They were downplaying the significance of the noise on tractor reliability and function.

That sounds like great news. ***Is there a Kioti Part Number for this "Attenuator" part?***

My Kioti dealer fabricated a rubber hydraulic hose with fittings (as described in this forum thread) to replace the original hard line as part of my 50 hr service (at 70something hours). I actually called one of the midwest dealers who'd built and installed several of the dealer-fabbed hard line replacements and put him in touch with my eastern US dealer, who claimed Kioti professed having no knowledge about the squealing issue when he first contacted them on my behalf.

The midwest dealer faxed my east US dealer the rough diagram he'd received from Kioti, and my dealer used that to build my replacement line. But this was *not* an "official" Kioti part, it was a Kioti-designed "you build" set of instructions for the dealer. The installer was asking *me* how to run the longer rubber line up under the tractor. I was glad I'd studied this thread hard at that point...

Is the "Attenuator" part just a Kioti-built equivalent to the one-off hose assemblies that Kioti Home Office provided our dealers with simple design sketches for? If it's the same as the one my dealer made for me, I'm not sure if there is any reason to replace what's on there with the "offical" Kioti part...

Or is the new Kioti "Attenuator" part different in some way? Inquiring minds REALLY would like to know.

FWIW, my replacement connector was installed last fall after the summer's heat had gone. Those of us with the squeal know it was noticeably worse on HOT days. Over the fall/winter I have not noticed the squeal since the fabbed part was installed, but the REAL test will come when I work the tractor on a hot day, when it would set up a howl you could hear a half mile away.

Thanks!

I would not be surprised if Kioti has not rolled out this program yet. With the loader cracking issue they reasonably did some pilot testing before getting the repair kit to dealers in quantity.

IT, I quote your response to an inquiry about the squeal:

I am not going to buy a very expensive problem!!!!

Your, (IT's response) to murphy1244,
"Keep your panties on. The squeal is 1) uncommon, 2) appears to be simply a harmonic noise in a external metal tube, and 3) has an easy fix by replacing the metal line with hose. There has been an exaggerated and frankly hysterical response by a few people about this issue. Korporate Kioti as usual hasn't done a good job communicating with customers or dealers but there has been zero evidence of "expensive problem' and this type of squeal phenomenon is well known in the industry. No reason to lose confidence."

Sorta sounds like a denial of the noise having any significance whatsoever, at least to me....

And, as it turns out, currently the solution to the issue/problem is slightly more complicated than 'an easy fix by just replacing the metal line with hose.' The 'solution' applied to my tractor the other day by my Kioti selling dealer's technician was a 'kit', for lack of a better term, which consists of a specific length and diameter hydraulic hose with fittings AND a new length and sized hole in a new design banjo bolt; both of which came in Kioti parts bags with official Kioti part numbers.
In my opinion, FWIW, this took some engineering as to what to do differently regarding the banjo bolt, and the hole size/location, etc. Same applies to the diameter of the hose and it's length.

Kioti headquarters contacted me today directly to see if my selling dealer had installed the parts and to ask if I had noticed any changes. I told them what I've already stated here and thanked them for their attending to the problem and mentioned that hearing the noise for the last 400 hours was no joy at all.

I would suggest we all move on from what Kioti has done in the past regarding cracked loaders and such; it's all old news now, and if we as customers make a concerted effort, as I promised here that I would, and did 'ride the train' to corporate Kioti and insist, politely, that the issue, whatever it is, be attended to in a timely fashion, then we may be able to positively affect corporate culture one issue at a time. After all it is in our best interest to do so, is it not?

For those who asked, I can and hopefully will get some pictures up when time allows....
And I will look for the part numbers and post them too, BUT I will caution that i do NOT know if the parts used on my specific tractor will be the same for anyone else's tractor- I just don't have access to that data. This is why I've said to please contact your selling dealer and let them work out the details with the Kioti HQ parts guys.

CM- out for now.

Above are the pics of the parts involved in solving the squeal issue. The first pic shows what the tractor is equipped with from the factory. The second and third pics depict the replacement parts; a newly designed hydraulic hose which I believe takes the place of the "u" shaped metal pipe. (I say, "I believe," because I did not actually see whether the "u" shaped metal tube was reinstalled or not- I was called away at the moment things were being reassembled. I will take a look and post back if indeed the piece is still used as part of the update). The old style banjo bolt had a hex head cap screw head and the new design attaches the hydraulic hose's elbow swivel fitting directly to the top of the bolt's end. Note the hyd hose has a cap on it from the factory to protect it from contamination. The caps which were on each end are removed prior to installation. Installation took about 1/2 hour or less start to finish. There is no need to drain hydraulic fluid to do this update, but I was at 400 hour service interval so I changed both hydraulic filters and topped off the trans fluid.

Part numbers from the parts bags they came in, are as follows: New style eyebolt to replace existing~ part # T4125-39101.
Attenuator hose: part # T4125-39001
Cord band,(cable tie) part # T2185-82551

NOTE: I cannot say whether these part numbers apply to ALL tractors exhibiting the squeal noise because I'm not privy to that data- which is one again why I suggest ANYone with the squeal noise that needs diagnosis/repair; contact your selling dealer and discuss it with them FIRST.
