Hi,

Has anyone made dollies to store and move around the BX23's FEL & BH? If so do you have any pictures? I want to leave the PTO Grass catcher on and be set up to cut grass with out having to remove the BH & FEL everytime I want to cut grass. Thanks!

I use two furniture dollies for the BH. One is a real heavy duty UHaul type that I put under the main frame....The lighter duty one (from TSC) I put under the hoe bucket. I'd advise you to get car dollies (much heavier duty).

Anyway, they work great.

I made a pair of dollies for the BH using ordinary 2x4s and some 200 lb rated caters from Home Depot. On the dolly for the main frame I put a piece of 3/4" plywood on the top, the dolly for the bucket I left open so the bucket has a place to rest.

Sorry, but I didn't take pics when I had the BH off last month, but will and post some the next time I use the dollies.

In any case, they work great and let me get the BH out of the way in the garage when I'm doing projects with 3PH implements like the box blade, rake, or splitter.

Good idea. I have 8 car dollies. Now all I have to do is buy something to attach to the back end when I take the hoe off. This may take awhile as Uncle wants 1/2 the price of a BX by the middle of the month.

I am in the process of building a backhoe dolly right now. I have photos of 5 different people who posted their bh dolly pics on TBN. I will have to dig out the URLs for those threads. If I can't find them, I will just repost the copies I made.

I have a red tractor, same size as the BX24, and use some car dollies I'd purchased several years ago to move a car in storage sideways-- called "wheel dollies" I believe; very heavy duty, from Northern Equipment. Haven't removed the backhoe yet, but one dolly with a 18" piece of 2x4 works beautifully for the snowblower (even maintains the right angle for re-install), and another under the FEL bucket works OK-- just have to lift on the mounting arms to move. Cheap, simple, rugged. I suppose if one were handy with a welder they could easily be turned into dedicated dollies for not much $$. Just a suggestion.

Still playing with the camera & posting-- If this works, here's a shot of the blower on the dolly.

Well, back to the drawing board. I'll have to review photo posting procedures again.

Do a search, there are lots that go back like 5 years........

I would need an All-Terrain Dolly...My garage is to darn full. I suppose if I needed to move it I could use my engine hoist...the lifts 2 tons....

I regret doing this, but I think I have to. Two or three years ago TBN made a server change. All data was transferred from one server to another server (or cluster of servers). When that happened, some of the code was corrupted or did not translate correctly. Because of this, some of the links embedded in posts no longer lead to the correct place when trying to follow those links from thread to thread. This in turn makes the effort to follow up on search results lead to dead ends. I have gone through the entire posting history of several members trying to locate working URLs to all the posts and pics of backhoe dollies. Some I was able to find successfully, and others I couldn't. I have spent a lot of hours on this.

Rather than continue with more hours of searching, I am going to re-post pics taken from other posts on TBN. Some of the original sources are Volfandt, Ron J. Hall, Graybeard 4-5-1, gsxr1100, jpr62902, dty, and therrien. I know there are others, and I regret not being able to credit every person who originally contributed these pics. I apologize in advance. If the administrators feel the need to delete this post and the following pics, I understand. If anyone sees your own pics and wants to claim credit, please do so and accept my apology.

I will have to make several posts so as not to exceed file size limits.
