There don't appear to be any notches on the front axle dip stick...

We'll look into the hood protection - thanks. The Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) Heater Kit was a recommended recall in the L-Series in cold locations. It prevented something bad happening to the engine - not sure what:). So far, no one seems to have gotten it in the TLB series.

It seems like this needs to be an electrical problem that first caused the tractor to lose power and conk-out, then prevents power form being send to the solenoid...

UPDATE Recharged the battery. Lights and fuel pump turn on but no clicking from starter motor when ignition turned. Hour meter on panel is also out. 12.8V on the multimeter and no change at all when the ignition switch is turned. Tried to jump with car – no response. Any thoughts? Thanks...

Replacing the fuel filter fixed it! Filter was near the time for scheduled replacement. Maybe its a coincidence, but we've been buying the diesel fuel from the same place for years and bought this fuel from a different place...if the filter clogs again, we'll drain this fuel and replace...
