True enough, a turbo is one more thing that can go haywire. But, I believe a turbo engine is more efficient at generating an equivalent amount of HP than a normally aspirated engine. Therefore, the new '03 series should be easier on fuel than the '05's given the same workload.
Were those R4's (pretty aggressive tread pattern) pictured for the 5203 available with the 5105?
Related to this new tractor --- is the 5603 the only model that has the cab option?

Not sure about getting two rear SCV's on a 5105. I think you can, but not sure.
I agree with your theory about turbos, but if you pull up the NE Tractor Test Lab reports on the 5103 and 5105 (or any other models in those series) you'll see that the 5105/5205 is slightly more efficient than the comparable 5x03 models, and significantly more efficient than the 5x25 models. The 3-cyl engine in the 05 series is a real gem. I did a lot of research before buying and as far as I can tell the 5105 is the most fuel-efficient tractor under 150hp or so made by anyone, anywhere. The 5x03 models are still pretty good, better than many non-green tractors, but the 05 seems to be tops.
R4's of about the same size as pictured were available for the 5105 (probably the exact same size, but I don't have measurements). R4 tread patterns vary slightly, but all are considered R4.
As far as I know only the 5603 has a cab option within the 5x03 range (I think it's cab only, actually, but again not sure). The name of the 5603 is really a misnomer as I don't think it has any relationship with the 5103-5503 models - it's just a marketing distinction I think.
