It started right up after sitting for months. I also
had the fuel line off, So I bled the line and gave her a crank and Ahhh
the smell of diesel. Need to finish hood. Oh the clutch works like it should
and the 4 wheel drive also works now. Need to finish hood and
install the rest of the 3 point.

One nice thing about diesels is they are very good about starting after long periods of sitting. Not like carbed engines where the bowl dries out and you have to keep cranking just to get it some fuel. It would be great if they could make all small gasoline engines fuel-injected as well to help control the issues associated with carbs like gumming, etc. Glad to hear everything works as it should. Have fun with it - I do with mine. I still find myself working on them more than using them though, not necessariy because they are broken but just making minor improvements :)

I slso was surprised at the number of repairs you had to make.

Well here it is 6 months later. oh man I never thought it would
be this long!

I don't think it was that long. See these two pictures? The first one was taken on 2/19/2012, the second today.

Did it take until 9/4/2013 to get it to look like that?
do you have more pictures? That looks nice.

Thanks, and yup, I put the loader stickers on that day. It looks like I started repairs around the middle of March of 2012. A list of broken parts (that I can remember):

1.) Four gears in the gearbox needed replacement
2.) Broken c-clip on transmission shaft (caused gears to shift forward and fail)
3.) Broken loader mounts (several)
4.) Broken front final drive housing and sheared drive gear
5.) Front rims cracked (apparently due to loader causing overloading)
6.) Four-wheel drive lever missing split pin (was stuck in 4wd)
7.) All loader hydraulics leaked
8.) Front axle leaked oil on both sides

The good news was the engine seemed fine. It could probably use a set of rings (very slightly smokes compared to other tractors). I think you still got me beat with the number of problems yours had. I certainly wasn't expecting a lot of mine either. I didn't get it for free, but it was pretty cheap. I bought it for the loader but decided to fix the whole thing.

Thanks - you too! Looks like you'll have a lot of fun this winter plowing. Sometimes I wish we would get more snow so I could use mine more doing that. Nice demo of the 4x4. These tractors must be pretty balanced since I usually can get both front wheels to spin too which is nice to know. Here's a video from a couple years ago. There's was no sound on the recording device:

Snow pile pushing - YouTube

I just use a 4-wheeler plow which is holding up pretty good but it's not built as stout as the Bolens one you have. For moving snow it's fine though which is about all I have to do with it. Have fun!
