In the emergency world there is a few terms that may not show up in dictionaries or google but do in these professional texts.

Was MVA in the past but it is accepted practice now that ALL collisions can be prevented!

This is very sad. Vehicles of all sorts need to be treated with caution, particularly around kids. I recall thinking my dad was overly cautious, but now I know how wise he was. My heart goes out to the family.

Accidents, like this one, require more of our compassion than our judgement, imo.

Society is equally critical of "helicopter" parenting; the fear of parents over-protecting their kids.

I just don't get it. I don't start any equipment up until I put the DOGS in the house. How can anyone let a kid play around when you are using a vehicle that might weigh 7,000 lbs? I do feel sorry for the guy, because he will have to live with this the rest of his life. And I doubt that the kid's mother will ever forgive him.

I agree with you. The other day i was blowing snow in several different areas of our yard visibility was limited because the wind blew it back on me in several instances. I knew the kids were inside the house. All of a sudden i spot my dog about twenty feet ahead of the blower. It wasn't really a close call but the thought went through my head. That's how accidents( or what ever technical other word you may use) happen. It was my wife that let the dog out. She thought it would good for him to get out.

too many prayers and sympathy for the family here. Sounds like a default saying on this site when something goes wrong that could have easily been avoided. So heres my expression "dumb *** parents". Hey johnny go play out in the snow with no supervision". Dad runs over kid. Idiots. spade and neuter those 2 dumb dogs. I don't even let my dogs outside in my fenced in pasture (10 acres) without me watching over them because I actually care about their well being too much. I guess idiots don't care too have a watchful eye over a human being.
