Oh yeah,

Thanks, well aware of the easy one under the hood! I now have spares for both!

Thanks again for all the help,

George,
I've got a BX-25 and use this trick when I'm swapping out the fuel filters. Remove the fuel cap and place a plastic bag or sheet of plastic over the opening. Then replace the fuel cap, tightening it down on the plastic. The plactic will block air flow to the tank, reducing your diesel spill. This is plumbing 101, air moves liquid.
Attached is a pic showing two Kubota fuel caps and their vents.
In the future treat your diesel with Power Service from Napa for the winter.
The weather is a-changing.
Wow. Wished I had read this yesterday morning. Thanks for posting. I'll use this for future filter changes for sure.

What size fuel lines does the BX have. 5/16 or 3/8?

5/16" That is why I used the valve I posted above.. I tried all the lawnmower repair shops and auto parts stores in the area and no one had a small 5/16" valve on the shelf. Seems everyone had the same Briggs and Stratton valve in stock locally, but that is 1/4".......... so I ordered this the 5/16 valve online.
