Saw a 930 Case Wheatland, no cab, in the local Craigslist last night for $2900. Says it runs well. Over 7,000 hrs. on it...

Deereman75, you must be busy working on the tractor and forgot to give us some updates and photos.

I will get some up today, after the water dries up. I actually had to get a new pressure washer, as the old one was shot. Some of that grease just won't go... After at least 3 scrubbing with tsp, it a very, very strong mix, and at least 5 power washings with an industrial degreaser, followed by a rinse with the turbo nozzle, there is still some little bits left. I just finished the final washing, so once the tractor dries, I will go and get that gallon of varsol from the barn... Seeing as I don't have my sand blaster here, I just sanded and brushed all the loose rust and paint off. I have a few rattle cans of rust primer to put on any bare metal or rust I can't remove. My plan is to have the priming done today, and do the final prep (masking ect) in the morning, and get the first coat on the body done tomorrow. If it seems like a while between updates, it is likely something like the storms that seem to happen every second day here preventing me from getting anything done. I will be sure to update twice and today, once after final cleaning, and once after priming. (assuming I have enough primer) stay tuned, I will hopefully update in a few hours

Okay, here it is. First of all even varsol wouldn't remove that gunk, I am sure it has to be a stain on the casting, as nothing will get it off. So I got the outside of the cab primed, then I ran out of primer. I will have to go into town tomorrow, and get a few more cans. IMG_00000024.jpg

Did you try some of that Gunk Engine Bright or Simple Grean or Formula 88 for the gunk removal. I have had great succsess with all them.

Simple green is what I was using with the power washer, it was amazing on everything else. I will have to see if I can find a can of gunk or carb cleaner, they are the only things I find work better then varsol.

Another way to remove the bulk of the crap fast is to use a puddy scrapper then use the washer and solvent.

Well another long overdue update, I am going to finish tomorrow at the latest. I just have the finish coat on the body left. I have been taking pictures, I will upload them all at once.

Finally. Do you have all the decals for it or did you mask of the ones that were on there.
