The attached information is intended to help the forum readers get to a meaningful discussion with their dealer on a fair price. This information on the older "D" models helped me and my dealer (very good by the way) come to a fair price.

The CUT tractors from New Holland are costed (from NH to the dealer) by a book held by the dealer. The way this works is explained in the following thread.

Forum thread on costing of NH CUT tractors

In the past we lost exposure to the factory codes for the D and DA models because the web sources eliminated their column on factory codes. Here is a 2003 listing with factory codes for the DA models. Keep in mind that your dealer has seen increases since 2003, so you will need to up front ask him for price increases he has seen in the last 24 months.

Again - this information will work for you if you understand that a fair mark-up for the dealer is required to keep him in business.

Just an FYI here guys. That information is really worthless for comming up with an idea of what we might pay for a tractor. First, there have been about three price increases since '03, so all those figures are several percent low. Second, we have other paper work that details different sales allowances, sales incenvites, settlement bonuses, floorplan terms, frieght costs and setup times. The actual tractor pricing itself is only about 1/3 of the figures involved in pricing out a machine. If you want to make sure your getting a competitive price the best thing to do is just shop around.
