half ton chevy tow 9200lbs?

about to attempt to tow 8000lb machine on a 1200lb car hauler trailer with tandum axles... will this work? with my z71 4x4 1999

That's. 800lb less than my 98 1 ton is rated to tow on the bumper, I wouldn't push a half ton that hard if I were you.

I wish I didn't have to but I just sold my dodge 3/4 ton and I was just going to see if anyone else has tried anything like this. I only have to go up good size hills and stop 4 times bout a 10 mile trip

Too many questions unanswered:

Does it have working brakes on both axles? Does it have good high capacity trailer or light truck tires, or old passenger tires? How far are you going? How fast? What is the trucks tow rating? What is the trailer ball rating? Trailer coupler rating? Etc, etc, etc.

The car hauler trailer probably has two 3500lb capacity axles giving it about a 6000lb capacity. So you will be starting about a ton overweight on the trailer.

Is the benefit worth the risk?

no ha... 1200lb trailer 18 footer with 2 3500lb axles but does have electric brakes

well the tounge is rated for 1800 lbs iv heard a halfton Silverado should be able to tow in the 8500lb range. but I imagine the trailer wheighs 1200lbs and the mini excavator I have weighs 8000lbs will be sitting on tow 3500lb axles but don't have to go far but just wondering if its gonna rack my trailer pretty bad or even blow the tires out. an old man told me itll pull it but I think he was trying to sell me a new trailer too haha...
