Well, if it's not too late, I'll tell you my front mount snowblower + gravel driveway story. I have an F-935 front mount mower and picked up a 47 snowblower to mount on it. I bought the pto reverser and made up a mount for it using square tubing. Yes It blows snow great. It also blows gravel, dog toys, and stones very well.
I have always used my JD 1070 with an 8' Meyers plow adapted to it. I use the loader hydraulic line for up/down and swing left/right. After 1 season of snow blowing (into my face as well), I'm going back to the plow. The 1070 has good ground speed and does not hesitate to push even wet stuff. My driveway is 800' and with a down and back trip, the machine has not even warmed up yet. The front mount blower deal looks cool and may be nice with a cab. But for the cost and time involved to get the job done, I recommend a plow. Yes you may need to push snow windrows off to the side once in a while, but you have the ability. Gravel everywhere at this point. Yes you can raise the skid shoes but now you have an icy driveway.
