Comparison John Deere v. Kubota - small tractor

   / John Deere v. Kubota - small tractor #31
The L3301 is a real nice tractor. I like everything about mine and have zero complaints. And when you buy a Kubota you get a Kubota, not an amalgamation of branded parts that cumulatively make a tractor.

But isn't that also true if you invest in a Yanmar of a Massey Ferguson/Iseki ?

I don't know about the Kubota's but the JDs in this category have cast aluminum rear axle housing so you lose a lot of weight to the ground on the rear tires vs cast iron.

The 3E yea, but not the 3R.

When looking at this size of tractor I look at it like this;

JD 3E < Kubota L < John Deere 3R

Then you have the Grand Ls of course but those are a bigger class of tractor.

Yea but look at a 3033R compared to an L3301. Beats the Kubota in everything. All depends slim what you want to spend and what features/capacity you need.

Everything? Sounds a bit grandiose.

JD 3033R Kubota L3301
Rear PTO hp 23 26.2
Fuel Cap (gal) 10 11.1
Total Displ (in3) 100 111.4
Transmission 2 range(?) 3 range
Front Axle dia (in) 3 in (?) 5 in.
Cost: $24,100 (list) $21,800 (What I paid)

I put question marks by the front axle dia. as if the 3033R is the same as the 3032E than it is 3 in which is significantly smaller than the L3301. Also the plastic hood selling point by JD is hilarious.
Would the JD 3033R serve my needs? Sure. But I perceive I get more for my money in the Kubota.
