Tractor
Case 446
I'm looking for an upgrade on my Case 446 and I found an Allis Chalmers 5015 in good looking condition for a decent price. Are there good tractors? Would I be able to find attachments for it? Or am I better just finding a Yanmar or Kubota of a similar size? Thanks

It appears the AC 5015 has a Category 1 TPH, so implements should not be a problem.

Other than mowing turf, a 1,400 4-WD tractor is not going to be capable of much ground contact work. A 2-WD model will be capable of less.

Parts probably difficult to impossible for a 36 year old machine, imported for just three years.

If it has a Loader the tractor will be very tippy due to high ground clearance for a subcompact tractor.

Thanks for the input Jeff, I mostly use the tractor for mowing grass, but I'd also like to be able to move boat trailers as well as put either a loader or dirt scoop on the back for moving soil around the property. I won't need to do any heavy duty dirt work. What you have you or anyone else on the form suggest?

There is a Kubota L245DT which would be a little bigger with a wider wheel base. I would have to replace the tires with more turf friendly tires, not sure how much that would cost.

Moving almost any trailer will require front end weights, or the tongue weight of the trailer will have the very light tractor vertical, rather than horizontal.

You can certainly mow but be aware that the PTO is CONTINUOUS on this tractor.

I doubt the 1,400 pound A.C. will have enough traction to scive up dirt with either a TPH scoop, or a FEL bucket.

Finding an FEL for a non-standard 41" wide tractor would be a miracle. Then you would need numerous hydraulic bits and pieces to power the FEL. If you find a Loader, the tractor will be very tippy due to unusually high 14" ground clearance for a subcompact tractor.
( Parts probably difficult to impossible to find for a 36 year old orphan-brand machine, imported for just three years.)

So the Kubota does not have a live PTO? A continuous PTO would not be ideal to my application.

Kubota L245

Power Take-off (PTO)
Rear PTO:independent
Rear RPM:540/700/1000

'Independent' is the most desirable type of PTO.

Unless you have water-retentive clay soil the R1/ag tires shown in the photo should be fine on lawns with only 2-WD engaged.

The tractor is only 2,380 pounds.

Likely the tire tread is fairly worn.

If you will pull boats up wet boat ramps, wider, softer turf tires might improve traction. Sharp sand and/or cat litter will also help tires grip wet concrete. You will need new rims as well as tires.
