My JD 1025 arrived today. Attached are a couple of pics.

The new seat is the main thing I like about it. Not so sure about the R4 tires. They don't seem to have as good side grip as the R3s on the 4010. Maybe it's the wet conditions we have that are fooling me.

The 4010 suffered total hydraulic failure because the shaft from the engine to the hydraulics let go. Rather than the dealer bring my old machine back repaired, I elected to order the new 1025.

With JD's special deal on a 2nd implement, I got a new bush hog for $200. This one's a Frontier vs. the LX-4 I had on the 4010.

I'll do a review on it soon as I've used it a bit more.

Looks as though I need to redo my profile to show the new 1025, maybe just add it.

Congrats on the new machine. I'll be interested on your thoughts after putting it through a few paces.

Congrats on your purchase, and yes, please do a review on it later on as TBN has no reviews(in the review section) for that model yet.

Congratulations on your new tractor. Wasn't there another post somewhere about a grease fitting at the shaft that drives the hydraulic pump on the larger JD CUTs? I don't remember which model it was but I thought it was in the 2000s. Something about a guy who never knew about that fitting so it never got greased and something failed in that area.

In the owners manual they now recommend greasing all fittings every 10 hours. For 50 hour service, only the transmission oil is shown to be changed. Motor oil and front gear oil go to full service time change the first time. Think it's 200 hours. Fits with my VW TDI. It's first oil change was regular 10k interval.

There was apparently no fitting on the part that failed on the 4010. It's a donut-like affair to the engine side of the U joint to the hydraulics that failed.
