I was invited to go out and watch the Turbo Saw in action. It's pretty impressive!

Like has been said, brush hog what you can, then get a Turbo Saw and a grapple and go to work. Since you're not under any time constraints you could even get away with the Turbo Saw with the grapple built in. BTW...$75 an hour is pretty cheap for any type of equipment designed for production clearing. I'd be a little suspicious of what you'd be getting for that price.
