Thats what we did last week-end. Planted 11 trees and 5 shrubs. PHD makes it so much easier than using a shovel ! I used a 9" auger but going to get a 12" auger for bigger holes. That looks like some rocky soil !! Nice job....

Does that PHD have a reverse gear on it? I'm thinking if I got one, I'd want to be able to back it out under power, just in case I ever did the proverbial corkscrew-into-the-ground thing.

Since the auger works PTO there is no reverse..
The only way to have reverse would get a hydraulic setup.. Considerably much more expensive than PTO auger..

Perhaps we should call you Admiral Collingwood. It seems 200 years ago today Collingwood was the first to fire a shot in The Battle of Trafalgar. He was also famous for in his spare time he used to go around and set acorns. It apparently took about 200 oaks to make one ship like Nelsons Victory. Collingwood had no idea that by the time his oaks had grown, they were to be making ships out of steel.

No PTO driven one has a reverse. Or at least none that I have seen. Only hydraulic driven ones can reverse.

Nice. I've become a huge fan of the Country Line auger after trying three other brands with poor results. For the money, there is no better deal out there that I'm aware of for such an aggressive digging machine!!!

big pipe wrench, maybe 1/2 turn to 1 turn and it will usually lift out of the hole.
