Bunny,
To specifically answer your questions. First go to www.johndeere.com and type in your tractor and there you will see the list price. You can also price out your mid mount mower under attachments. Next look at www.midlawns.com and see the discount. You should be at these prices for a good deal.
With regards to the woods they are fine pieces of equipment. You will never wear them out with what you do. Keep the gearbox oiled and the zerts greased.
With regard to the tractors themselves you aren't comparing apples to apples. Yes the 2 extra hp, weight, pump capacities, etc. are worth extra. Also the mid mount mower is about 2 grand more than a rear mount mower. So really you are down to about a $4k difference. Also as has been said compare the NH TC33 which is comparable with the deere. From what I saw there if you figure just the tractor you are paying retail about $1200 more for the deere when you compare the TC 33. That's very much worth it for the deere in my opinion.
With regard to the loader you are right. If you don't need it now forget about it. You can always add it later.
Personally I think the MMM would do a better job than the rear mount and will also be easier for you to use. It will function more like your riding mower which you are already used to.
As far as needing it I would say yes you need as much tractor as you can afford. The NH will do the job but then again your Craftsman will do the job too. The Deere with more hp, more weight, more pump capacity, etc. will make the job that much easier.
