Speaking of seats, I did promise Bob that I'd look for some unusual seats for him. Unfortunately, this is the only that I saw. This means that either I don't know what unusual means, I didn't look in the right places, or there just weren't any there. Anyway, I'm sorry Bob that I couldn't get more pictures for you. I just didn't see anything that was the least bit unusual. Maybe that says something about midwestern farmers? /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Or Kent, if you really feel lazy, I suppose you could get yourself an outfit like this one. This is 1929 DeSoto that is called the Poorman's Tractor.

This event is sponsored by the Rock River Threshermen's group. They've started a museum on the property. Here's a picture of one of the "larger" engines they have in the museum. It's a 1934 Worthington 4 cylinder 500hp diesel.

Here's the information about that Worthington diesel. If you look in the background of the previous photo, you can see a portion of a Fairbanks-Morse engine. I couldn't get any closer to get a better picture, but it is larger than the Worthington. The Fairbanks-Morse engines were built in Beloit, Wisconsin just about 15 miles south of where we are.

But I have to tell you. I like the truck that the Lambert was sitting on even more than I liked the Lambert. This is a 1936 REO flatbed.

Here's a larger view of the area that they park the trucks and cars that are on display. There are some really nice old trucks in here, but this area isn't even 1/10th the amount of space used for the tractors.

And the last picture is of the motorcycle parking area. No, these aren't on display. They're the motorcycles that were ridden to the event. You can't see from this angle, and I didn't want to walk down there, but just beyond where the motorcycles are about 40 acres that are used for people who come and want to camp. There's everything form big motor homes to two man pup tents down there. They also have one of the largest flea markets in the midwest throughout the weekend.

All in all, it;s quite an event. A person could easily spend two days ther, just wandering around looking and watching all of the demonstrations.

Hope you enjoyed the photos. Sorry they were a little grainy.
