Usually always by Fathers Day 2nd to 3rd week in June around here in southern Vermont...where I was in Maine NEVER before the 4th of July

Dry farmed hay--early May
Irrigated hay (mostly alfalfa)--mid April

if you have last years growth to bale an it gets warm.you could bale in mid april 1st of may to clean the field up.an here we can get our 1st cutting if we have ran by mid june.

Anywhere from the 2nd week of May to the last week of May depending on the Weather

Irrigated alfalfa every 1100 degree days.... First cutting can be earlier to avoid weeds and weed seeds from maturing....
Then I watch the weather/rain window.....

From what I'm hearing around here in central Wisconsin the first cutting is usually coming off mid June. This is my first year here, so I can't say for use. I'm hoping someone from Central Wisconsin will share that info also!

We are seriously connsidering a cut first of may. Its either that or sell off part of the herd. We barley got 2 cuttings last year. An we are already running low. An buying hay is not an option due to ridiculous prices
