5075E John Deere
5075E Tractor
Model Year: 2018

I am a mining operation and use this tractor with a two bottom mole board plow, 80-inch rototiller and a 10-foot disk to break up virgin clay for our mining operation. We choose the 5075E 75-horsepower tractor after comparing with other manufactures in the same class including price, service, parts, and resale value. In two months, we have put just under 200 hours on it with absolutely no problems other than a few minor issues. It is working absolutely perfect in our application. It has enough power for its size and is very user friendly as we have multiple operators on it.

Pros: Works better than expected for our application
Cons: Fuel tank is to small, could be bigge

5075E John Deere
Beware
Model Year: 2018

I have a John Deere 5075E tractor with cab and loader. I own a construction company and own many other tractors. I purchased this machine for my own personal use and am the only one that has operated it for day one. The tractor is used primarily to mow an 8-acre field with a bat wing finish mower. I have a few issues with the machine. 1. It is under powered. Even at 75 horsepower it can barely pull the mower on flat ground and maintain RPMs. 2. The fuel tank is 19 gallons, the tractor will only run 3.5 hours (that's 5.4 gallons per hour). 3. The cab is cramped. For some reason the seat is bolted to the floor forward leaving for to six inches behind the seat unused. 4. UNRELIABLE. The tractor, without warning, will shut down like you shut the key off then nothing. No electrical power what so ever. The dealer has worked on it twice with no success. Once repaired it runs 30 minutes and then quits again. 5. Minor but still a pain: the front tires are too narrow. In a dry field I still leave ruts; can't wait until spring and fall when its wet. Beware, if you need a 75 horsepower tractor get a 100 horsepower one. They don't make them like they used to.

Pros: I like to say they are all nice when they're new
Cons: Unreliable, can not live with that

5075E John Deere
Works Perfect For What I Do
Model Year: 2017

I bought this tractor to do field mowing commercially. I also have a trucking company, so I got it with the cab. I can talk on the phone all day long and nobody knows I am mowing. I'm using the 7-foot Frontier single blade mower. Most of what I cut is not particularly heavy, so I mainly use the power take-off on economy mode, which saves a bunch of fuel. The only reason I give it a 4 star on performance is that sometimes the air conditioning doesn't keep up on days over 100 degrees. I have to bring a leaf blower to some jobs to blow weed seeds out of the radiators to keep it from overheating and the air conditioning working. I did have a mast pin on the loader pop out, bending a bracket. The local John Deere dealer came out, diagnosed the problem, and was back the next day to fix it. Outstanding service.

Pros: Fits in tight spaces, loader comes on and off easy, cab is pretty quiet, power reverse nice for loader work
Cons: Fuel tank is not as large as I would like, air conditioner sometimes struggles

5075E John Deere
Get What You Pay For
Model Year: 2014

Frequent leaks have been addressed by the dealer. We replaced the gas tank as it had collapsed, and replaced the Titan front tires because of frequent leaks. There have been no problems with the Firestones. It is a good spray tractor, with lots of amps for running the controls. It's too small for anything but limited big round baler use. Will not start when below -25 F, plugged in or not. Brakes have to be pumped two or three times to function well, but will catch on the first pump...a little. It has a good cab, and the air is as dependable as is the heat. The radio was replaced when it failed. Awkward loader controls have gotten worse with time. I have to go over the tractor once per week with a wrench to tighten all the loose fittings. Would not consider buying this tractor again.

Pros: Good general use tractor
Cons: Frequent, annoying, small fixes need

5075E John Deere
Good Overall Utility Tractor
Model Year: 2015

There have been lots of mixed reviews on this model of John Deere so far. I bought my 2015 5075e used with around 30 hours on it, but it was practically brand new at the time. I have since put around 300 hours on it. I own a 75-acre hay farm and I use this tractor all summer. My swather is around 10-feet wide and it cuts through the thick alfalfa just fine. I also use this tractor on my small round baler. It has plenty of power to do the things I need it to. I also use the tractor to plow out my place in the winter and I really enjoy the power reverse option. You don't need to constantly push the clutch in to do the work you need. I have had zero issues with it so far. There are a few ergonomic changes that could be made but that is all preference. As I stated earlier, I have around 350 hours on it with no issues. I use the tractor as it was intended, UTILITY work. I did not purchase this tractor to clear woods or farm 1,000 acres with. It works perfectly for my small farm and light loader work.

Pros: Good power, good interior (cab), lots of features
Cons: Fuel economy is average, short wheel base, pricey

5075E John Deere
Awesome Tractor
Model Year: 2017

This is a great driving tractor. It is well balanced with a H240 loader/bucket and HX6 cutter. It has smooth shifting and nice features in the cab, with plenty of horsepower. It could run bigger implements if needed. I would like a bigger fuel tank. I plan to farm some, but right now I am mowing, clearing property, and maintaining firebreaks. The noise level with cab model is low and the ePTO feature is nice for light mowing.

Pros: Great tractor great price, locking differential and cab model with air conditioning and heat
Cons: No swivel seat

5075E John Deere
Craftsmanship And Quality Control Not There, Poorly Made
Model Year: 2015

The tractor is less than 1 year old with 80 hours. John Deere used be a trusted name, but, I surely disagree with that any more. It is junk made in foreign countries with little to no quality control and inferior materials, which makes for a piece of junk. I have had problem after problem since the day of delivery. There have been air conditioning and heater problems, fuel lines and clamps time and again, water leaks, etc.

Pros: Green and yellow
Cons: Poorly manufactured

5075E John Deere
Overall Not Real Happy
Model Year: 2014

Nice tractor at first, but soon I was having power take-off, fuel, and a lot of other small and irritating problems. Now, no one will stand behind the product very frustrated with John Deere!

Pros: Nice operating station
Cons: Problems with fuel injection and power take-off switch

5075E John Deere
Lemon Or Bad Tractor
Model Year: 0

I bought my new 5075E with the hope that this would be my last ever tractor. Unfortunately, after 8 hours, the hydraulics failed and had to be repaired. I was assured this was a rare event and my tractor is a good one. I took John Deere's word and kept it. The first time I put it in the field, it started to overheat. After checking the normal possibilities, I brought it in. It turns out that the motor was bad and had to be replaced. At the same time, the clutch went bad and had to be replaced. All this occurred within less than 200 hours. John Deere assures me I have a good tractor. What do you think?

Pros: Tire didn't go flat
Cons: Everything

5075E John Deere
Can Work Well, But...
Model Year: 2014

It has difficulty with a big round baler (low on horsepower). It also has frequent leaks which have been mostly fixed by the dealer. It has also had tire problems (Titan) since it was new. There was no warranty. The brakes are very poor. A hired man here refuses to use the tractor. It has high fuel usage for the horsepower produced. It is not up to the quality and performance of my other John Deere tractors and does not replace my 5205 loader tractor. It has a poor joy stick loader feel and poor sight lines with our self-leveling loader, as well as constant small problems. It is also very poor starting in the cold.

Pros: Nice cab
Cons: Everything else

5075E John Deere
Beware Of This Tractor
Model Year: 2014

Our family are long-time John Deere advocates, but are struggling to remain so. Our 5075E was purchased with 7 hours. At 10 hours, the wiring harness shorted from being too close to the exhaust system. We had to pay to haul the tractor into the shop, and were delayed 2 weeks. At 20 hours, the fuel injector pump went out. It is on back order. The tractor has spent far more time broken down than it has working, is currently broken down, and there is no word on when it might be operational.

Pros: Comfortable, features are good for our needs
Cons: Extremely unreliable to date

5075E John Deere
Unreliable Air Conditioning
Model Year: 2014

I bought this tractor mainly for mowing and spraying my pecan orchard in Texas. In the summer, air conditioning is critical for me. It was great for the first few months but in the spring with 60 hours on it, the air conditioning condenser broke at a connection spraying coolant all over the engine compartment. The dealer fixed it and the new condenser broke again in the same place in less than 10 hours. It took another three weeks to fix it and now it's mid-July and working again but I am not sure for how long.

Pros: Has plenty of power for MX-10 Cutter
Cons: Reliability, dealer service

5075E John Deere
Hay Season
Model Year: 2014

Hay season is probably the true test. I have a New Holland baler working behind the tractor. We just finished the season and I cannot say that there are any major negative aspects about the tractor. Other reviews have had issues, but they seem to be in the initial hours and with dealers. This is a basic tractor. The downside is that it is made outside of the USA. The hydraulics work well. Again, this is a 75 horsepower tractor so you cannot overload the hydraulics. John Deere has pushed the max with the 3-cylinder engine via the turbo. That could be a future maintenance issue. John Deere needs to get beyond the small design and give space for a good tool box and at least a place for a water jug. For the money, I would buy it again, maybe. If I need another tractor I would pay the price and step up to the next couple of series by John Deere that are made in USA. You get what you pay for. From the farm................

Pros: Value for horsepower
Cons: The hydraulics seem weak

5075E John Deere
Poor Running
Model Year: 2013

I have called the dealer about engine problems when running with a load, 3-foot bottom plow, 7-foot packer, 9-foot swather, and small baler. After running about 1 hour, the motor cuts out missing badly. After changing the fuel filter twice and draining old fuel from the tank, the service department says they can not find whats wrong if it won`t misbehave when they are looking at it. I will call them again in the morning.

Pros: It's John Deere green
Cons: Poor quality

5075E John Deere
5075E Brakes (NOTE: CANNOT REMOVE PHOTO)
Model Year: 2014

Excellent dealer service is essential with this tractor. Frequent leaks when first arrived... looked after by dealer. Cab model with air/heat. Would not start when close to 0 F. Had to be plugged in. Air stopped working during heat wave when seeding... full cool down and restart necessary to get to work after fuse replaced. Rattle when e-pto operating. Brakes did not work to stop tractor when first received. Pumping repeatedly kept them marginally effective... until they had been used enough to seat... then they worked poorly on first pump. Tractor is dangerous to use... one of our employees refuses to use the tractor or be around it when hitching... cites "awkward". Rattles prevent you from hearing radio at working RPM. Tractor had debris fall on exhaust manifold when new leading to fire. Had to rent tractor to get seeding finished.

Pros: features, cab, strong loader
Cons: reliability, brakes, build quality, wiring, rattles

5075E John Deere
The Jury Is Still Out On My 5075E
Model Year: 2013

I purchased the unit used (250 hours) at a John Deere dealer. The dealer has been great. I can't say so much for the tractor. It has been back to the dealership twice; once for a locked right brake and the other time for a hydraulic leak at the steering column. I had not had a chance until this hay season to put the tractor through its paces. Running at 3/4 throttle in and out of the turbo, I am now overheating. The radiator is full, the radiator fins have been flushed and the belts checked. There are no problems there. The dealer says that he has had no complaints of this nature. I think that in accelerating into and out of the turbo is where the problem is created. Although, I am of the opinion that the tractor should accept this operation with no trouble. The wobble stick, on the loader, does not seem to be user friendly. I also have a John Deere 2550 that has always, without exception, accomplished everything I asked of it.

Pros: Good stance, 4-wheel drive
Cons: Mentioned above

5075E John Deere
No More JD for Me
Model Year: 2014

Just bought new JD 5075E. Had 8 hours when I bought it. So far I've put less than one. Back to dealer twice. Once with "stretched" throttle cable, now with undetermined problem so far, but suspected electrical problem. The dealership now is wanting to blame me for breaking it (hard to break much in 45 minutes use). This is the 5th tractor I've owned, including Ford, Kubota, MF, and JD 5210. Had no problem with any of these. I will never buy another JD product. Would sell this tractor for $5,000 less than I paid.

Pros: Pretty green color.
Cons: Mechanically a nightmare.

5075E John Deere
Satisfied with My Deere 5075E After One Year
Model Year: 2012

I waited until owning this tractor until I'd ran it a year. I have an actively managed tree farm and use my 5075E for pulling a 10' heavy rotary cutter, spraying, food plots, logging and all kinds of front end loader work. I have 112 hours on it. The 5075E is about as simple, straightforward of a tractor that you can get in its power range. The motor is turbocharged and it's the same displacement motor that's in the 5045E, the smallest of its class. That means the 5075E is REALLY turboed, and it does suffer a bit from the problem of not having a lot of lugging power at lower rpms. The tranny is fine, and the shifting is fine. You're buying a basic tractor here, and you're getting a 9 forward/3 reverse tranny that Deere has built for years. I saw where a previous reviewer had problems with reverse's location. All I can say is the tranny has tight shifting, good gear spacing and good ergonomics. I have a front end loader stick and it's not in the way of the shifter. The tractor is well built underneath. That's important to me because I mow heavy weeds and light brush and most new tractors have far too many vulnerable wires and hoses along their belly. The front end loader is well matched. I got the heavy bucket and it is too heavy. I should have gotten the standard bucket (and this from the guy who gradually tore up the bucket on his old Deere 5410). Haven't had the front end loader off yet but it looks easy enough. I added a canopy from a shortline manufacturer, then added a fully belly guard, heavy limb risers, and reinforced canopy. This tractor works well in my timber applications. Bottom line is that the 5075E simple, well priced and practical.

Pros: I got the block heater option and the tractor starts great on cold (10 degree F) mornings. The tractor is sturdy and built heavily. It's a fairly simple tractor and I'm comfortable doing most of the servicing. There aren't a lot of electronics on it. It's heavily built and I envision owning this tractor for at least 15 years.
Cons: I was told the "global mount" on the front end loader was universal, but it's not. If you want a true universal mount get the skid steer mounts. Still, the global mount latch system is awesome. You have to order a rear implement light as it isn't standard. That's kinda odd. My fuel tank gasket and turbo line both leaked the first year, but JD has fixed them. The front wheel drive lever needs a heavier mounting bracket. The PTO lever is surprisingly hard to throw. Extendable lift arms are an expensive option. There are no cup holders and no good place to put a water jug or your lunch box. The instrument panel fogs up (just like my 5410 did) even though my tractor has never sat out in the rain.

5075E John Deere
JD 5075 Initial Review 10.0 Hours
Model Year: 2012

Ordered mine with 9k lb logging winch. Beautiful tractor. Wasn't impressed by the paint finish when I gave the hood and fenders a wax. Ya, I figured I'd do it once. Went to start it today and it didn't start. 8.5 hrs had bad starter connection. My biggest reason for writing this is that I'm disappointed with the tranny. The shifter is under the loader controls on the right side. If your going to do a lot of loading with the loader, you need a shuttle shift or the shifter should be on the left side. That's what I was used to with my Kioti and my JD 975 I can shift into reverse with my left hand.

Pros: There will be more I hope. The tranny ranges are fine.
Cons: Can't shift to reverse while loader is being used. Reverse and 1st gear should be switched.

5075E John Deere
John Deere 5075E on Small Farm
Model Year: 2011

I bought the tractor mainly to move round bales. I added rimguard and 2 sets of weights and it feals real stable moveing 800lb rounds. I went with the 5075E to keep the options open for making round bales in the future if we get more land. Easier to buy the hp now than later.

Pros: Strong manuverable setup well easy to use.
Cons: Front tires are a little on the narrow side but they will do.
