DK35SEHST Kioti
Kioti DK35SE HST
Model Year: 2008

I use my Kioti DK35 for a variety of things. I have a Kioti back hoe attachment that gets quite a bit of use for prepping job sites like pool houses and garages and trenching for services. I also regularly use a rough cut mower to maintain approx. 15 acres of property. Additional attachments that I use are a front end loader, box blade, 2 furrow plow, harrow, tiller, and snow blower. This unit has performed excellent in all conditions. I had been renting comparable Kubotas prior to my purchase and my Kioti out performs any Kubota that I rented in similar size category. It is easy to change the fluids, filters, grease, etc. My dislikes are that the plastics are very cheap material, the shifter for H N M N L isn't very smooth, and the screen in front of the rad is prone to plugging when mowing which if not kept cleaned out will cause the tractor to overheat. I didn't purchase my equipment from my local dealer as the owner treated me like crap. Unfortunately the dealer that I did purchase from and was very happy with recently went out of business. I live in Hawkestone, Ontario.

Pros: Excellent performing small unit.
Cons: Shifter and plastic.

DK35SEHST Kioti
Kioti DK35SE HST
Model Year: 2010

I bought a new New Holland TC 29D in 2000. I did look briefly at Kioti, but was afraid their quality might be sub par, and they didn't seem as refined as NH. Now fast forward, I have been looking for something with a little more HP, and looked again at NH. I was disappointed with the new entries. They were more like what I remembered with the Kioti years earlier, a bit unrefined, controls in inconvenient places, etc. I then started looking at other brands. LS (I know they build NH) was even less refined, and didn't seem to have the quality I wanted, and the price was on par with NH (who had incentives at the time). I then started reading more, and was finding that Kioti was well liked, despite what I had thought years earlier. I took a look at the DK40se HST, and the DK35se HST. I was impressed with both. The controls were well laid out, I liked the flat deck design, and the other extras Kioti has. I settled on the DK35 se HST, and couldn't be happier at this point. I think today they exceed the quality and layout I observed with NH, and LS. I did also look at JD, but they were out of my price range, so I didn't look closer.

Pros: Price, design, quality.
Cons: None yet.

DK35SEHST Kioti
Good Tractor But Irritating
Model Year: 2011

I bought my tractor from Ceresville New Holland Kioti because it is only 20 miles from my farm. The tractor appears to be well built and it has a nice set of features. Feature-for-feature, Kioti is cheaper than other makes. However, it has several drawbacks, that if I had looked at them closer before purchase, I doubt I would have made the same choice. On the very day that the tractor was delivered, I noticed that the parking brake did not work. I called the dealer – they told me that the info about adjusting the parking brake was in the owner’s manual. So I proceeded in the adjustment, but I could not get anywhere. I let that go. A couple of months later, when the tractor had 32 hours on the clock, the tractor had to go back to the dealer for a different problem (more about this later). I took the opportunity to ask them to look at the parking brake. Supposedly they “adjusted” it, however, when it was returned to me it was as useless as ever. I tried again to adjust it myself, but to no avail. I came to the conclusion that there must be a design fault, and the parking brake is useless. When the tractor had 32 hours on the clock, a hydraulic hose busted. Luckily I caught it before any serious damage occurred. Since I had no means to take the tractor to the dealer, I hired the dealer for the transportation to and from my farm to his shop. The repair was fully covered by the warranty, but it was a shocker when they presented me with a bill for $661 for the transportation cost (which included $25 for “shop supplies”). On this occasion they tried to “adjust” the parking brake – a complete failure. The tractor has a nice radio and CD player. However, the tractor is so loud that the radio/CD is completely useless. You MUST wear ear muffs when operating this thing, which obviously makes the radio/CD worthless. Kioti should do one of two things: 1. install a much better muffler (preferred), or 2. Put a plug on the radio so that I can plug-in some noise-cancelling earmuffs that let me hear the radio (Boise, or the like). A third option would be to cancel the radio and use the savings toward a better muffler and/or sound isolation. The front loader is hyper-sensitive. Just touching the joystick, the bucket drops like a rock, even when empty. It is very difficult to modulate the bucket movements into a smooth motion. Perhaps the bucket hydraulics need a valve similar to the one that adjust the rate of travel for the lower links. On a positive note, the front loader has a neat removable bucket–presumably to be replaced by some other implement. I have not yet used this feature. On a negative note, the front loader is more difficult to remove or reinstall than others I have seen. This is not a big problem because it is not something that most people do very often. The engine oil-filler is a nightmare. It is located under the platform that holds the A/C compressor. The engineer who designed it must have been on some weed experimentation. It would have been a very simple fix to move the filler a few inches back on the valve cover. I will try to fix this by cutting an access hole through the A/C compressor platform using a hole saw. As it is now, you must be very inventive on how you are going to add/replace engine oil. I don’t know if this is a problem or not, but I have had to refill the coolant overflow bottle three times (I estimate to be somewhat less that a quart capacity, and the tractor has now 64 hrs on the clock). I have not detected any leaks, and I do not believe it is leaking into the engine oil because I think I would have detected some emulsifying. This is too much of a loss for evaporation. The only thing I can think at this time is that the cooling system was not completely full and it is pulling-in the contents of the overflow tank at each heating/cooling cycle. I will keep an eye on it. It appears to be a real gas-hog (actually, diesel-hog). I have not actually measured the fuel consumption but I will. It must be because of the weight – this tractor is considerably heavier that other tractors of the same horsepower. Certainly it is not because it is overworked; we use it only to cut grass with a 5 ft bush hog, in a perfectly flat field, where we never let the grass get taller than 8 inches.

Pros: Nice set of features.
Cons: Loud, useless radio, useless parking brake, front loader difficult to use.

DK35SEHST Kioti
Unbelieveable Tough
Model Year: 2008

This Kioti goes almost every day I have built a horse riding arena with it I spread manure, bush cut plow snow. Use it to feed horses round bales of hayeledge that almost exceed the rated lifting of the front end loader. I would buy another Kioti in a heart beat would not even bother to look at another brand My neighbor has a Kubota and it is a good tractor but not nearly as good as mine The HST is a great feature so fast and smooth.

Pros: HST. Quick detach bucket. Easy entry from either side cab.
Cons: Key switch to close to your knee have bumped it and bent the key and accidently shut the tractor off a couple of times.

DK35SEHST Kioti
Kioti DK35SE HST
Model Year: 2011

In April of 2011 I purchased a Kioti DK35SE HST with loader as a package deal. I really didn't need another loader but it was free from Kioti. I have run a lot of loader tractors but this is the smoothest I've found. Lot of power and quick response on the loader valve. I have found a real good friend with Kioti working in the woods and finish mowing. Waiting to use the rear blower and I'm positive it will work great!

Pros: Very comfortable to operate, easy starting when cold, quick response on 3 pt hitch, & quiet.
Cons: I think it's a little hard on fuel but still low hours.

DK35SEHST Kioti
Hardworking Tractor
Model Year: 2008

I bought my Kioti DK35SE HST to help clear dense underbrush on my property in central Texas. It is a very reliable, versatile machine. Admittedly, I have abused this machine. For a tractor, this is the best bulldozer I have ever owned. I have run through brush, pushed trees, stumps and moved huge amounts of dirt. My dealer (Paige Tractors in Paige Texas) has been the best. Any repairs or maintenance are done promptly and professionally.

Pros: Weight adds to ability to push trees and stumps. 4 wheel drive a must in my sandy soil.
Cons: Haven't found any yet. Machine has done everything I have asked.

DK35SEHST Kioti
New Tractor
Model Year: 2011

Just bought a new (first tractor) after agonizing over the Kubota, Mahindra, & Kioti brands for 6 months. Really shopped and compared and went with a new 4WD CK35 loaded with HST since I would use it to clear a new property. Worked well once I got used to the footprint. A very agile machine and powerful for it's size. Until at 15 hours, then it all happened. I noticed hydraulic fluid spurting out on the driveway. Drove it back to the dealer. They thought it was an "O' ring. Now 3 weeks later, it's still in the shop with a new hydrostat being drop shipped from South Korea. I've called 4 times and got shrugs to apologies for the company, but hey I'm missing out on the best month of the year to work outside to build a house. Holding up construction---NOT GOOD! Asked if they have a loaner...."no". I'm reserving judgement for now because things happen, but I'm more than a little frustrated. What if I was a contractor and this was my livelihood? I bought a new tractor to not have this happen. When I want to work, I need the machinery to perform flawlessly. Updates to come.

Pros: Agile, features, nimble, and powerful.
Cons: Reliability. Company support.
