L3010 Kubota
Tough Tractor
Model Year: 2002

I purchased my L3410 with a Woods loader 1012 and a Woods 7500 backhoe used in 2012. The previous owner had pounded on the bucket and left it out in the weather the whole ten years (tires were rotted out, seats were totally gone, hoses had to be replaced). Once the rubber was replaced the thing rocked. I do a lot of material moving with the loader and back-hoeing around the farm. I would say the hydraulic fluid window leaks as others see, but the tractor is great otherwise. I need to keep the screens clean or it overheats in the 100 degree weather...well I overheat too.

Pros: Strong engine doesn't kill easy, HST is the only way to go, 4-wheel drive handy
Cons: Hydraulic fluid window leaks and is costly to replace

Good Machine
Model Year: 2003

I have owned this tractor for 10 years now---routine maintenance is pretty much all the care she has required. Replaced glow plug relay and front loader float detent--that's pretty much it. Been used primarily as a backhoe/loader with Bradco hoe attachment and LA482 loader. Very pleased with the performance and durability of this machine. Would buy Kubota again without hesitation.

Pros: Durable and maintenance free.
Cons: A little more expensive than some of the other brand tractors.

Kubota w/FEL
Model Year: 2000

This tractor was bought for use in small commercial olive grove. Has FEL and is used with slasher (topper), rotary hoe, spreader, chipper, UFO (drum) hay mower and bar rake. The FEL is excellent, good width and depth for tractor. Can also be swapped for forks. Have used FEL for prep of sand pads (building) as well as all kinds of typical loads. Forks lift close to 500kg, so have been used for loading olive bins, loading transplanted trees, hay (round bales) and just about anything you can think of. Even though a relatively small capacity motor, this is an excellent tractor, capable of working with the hay mower all day and being miserly with fuel. This has turned out to be a great tractor.

Pros: Tough, super reliable, economical, well-engineered, good power out of small motor.
Cons: None really. Cut out switch (from PTO) sometimes cuts in before starting occasionally (probably just needs a clean).

This was the best investment I have ever made in a tool. I built some tools for the 3 point and used it for landscaping a new house and a 2 acre lot, small farming, cutting/skidding firewood, loading the wood processor, mixed the cement slab for my 20 X 26 pole barn with an attached cement mixer and the 23 tubes for my house deck with attached hoe. I have cleared snow with snow-blower and plow, graded my 1/2 mile of road with homemade grader and done a million other tasks with this machine and done nothing more than change fluids and grease. It has paid for itself long ago.

Pros: Like a Timex or the energized bunny, just keeps going and going!
Cons: The factory loader does not lift as much as I would like it to lift. It is about 1/4 ton less lifting capacity than I think it should have.

Kubota Compact Tractor
Model Year: 2002

This tractor has the glide shift transmission which I like because you can set the gear for specific operations where you want to know the speed your traveling such as for spraying. It would be nice to have a few more horsepower. It's supposed to be capable of handling a 5 ft. rototiller, but it's marginal in clay loam with turf. Brush hog and snow blower are also only 5 ft. max while the R 4 tires are 65" outside. More horsepower would permit 6 ft. max with these attachments. I bought the tractor initially for mowing with a 6 ft. rear finish mower and it does very well with this attachment. Overall it does everything I need, but I'd probably opt for a tractor with more power if I were to buy today. I just purchased a Erskine 5 ft pull behind snow blower, but haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Pros: Very reliable so far.
Cons: Under-powered for some implements & conditions.

Front Loader Control Valve Problems
Model Year: 2001

The control valve has broken twice. The first time the detent broke. Had it repaired at the dealer. Now, a year later the up and down is sticky and the control valve makes a bit of noise in the up mode and keeps going up even when I release the lever. Have to move the lever to stop the up motion. This makes it very difficult to operate safely. The dealer says there may be moisture in the control valve. If the detent needs to be replaced again (for about another $200) I can't help wonder what is causing the problem to begin with. Any ideas will be appreciated. Also had to replace front bearing and seals on both wheels with not that many hours on tractor.

Pros: HST is great.
Cons: Too many break-downs in front wheel bearings and loader control valve.

Fontinalis Farm Tractor
Model Year: 2002

Continue to be impressed with ease of operation. Over the past decade it has been a learning experience. Have used the following attachments: Bush Hog, post hole digger, flail mower, 2 bottom plow, rototiller, box grader, boom hoist, york rake, and scraper blade. Latest addition was a backhoe attachment. Unit came with loader bucket. Finally built a proper shed for it last year so now in out of the weather.

Pros: Still using original battery. 4 wheel drive and HST .
Cons: None right now.

Bought with 550 hrs. Added remote hydraulic. Has a bush hog loader. Bought power rake used and new tiller from turkey. Everything works great. Tractor is bullet proof. Bought Kubota 4 pt backhoe designed for this tractor. Also awesome. Thinking about a snow plow or blower.

Pros: Reliability.
Cons: None.

Does the Job
Model Year: 0

It does the job it is intended for (mowing 20 acres, transporting heavy loads with bucket). There are times a little more HP would be nice. Quality of construction is poor. The seat completely disintegrated. Front loader hoses all failed over time. Battery tie down rusted out.

Pros: Easy start, easy handling.
Cons: Poor quality hyd. hoses, poor rust prevention.

This is great tractor. I have the Kubota loader on it and 4wheel drive w/shuttle shift tranny. I just cracked the plastic radiator tank and have taken it out to get it repaired. Kubota wants $430 for new one. I am getting it welded for a lot less and hope it holds. Other than my bonehead accident w/the stick busting the radiator, only thing I have done is put one battery in it. First battery lasted like 8 years.

Pros: Great tractor.
Cons: Wish it had an indepentant PTO so I could run it at lower speed when mowing.

Kubota L-3010
Model Year: 2000

Wonderful tractor, was 10 years old when I bought it but only had 385 hours. The seller (private) had just changed the Hyd lines. I immediately changed the hyd fluid, oil, both filters, etc. The tractor is manual tranny with clutch, this is not a problem for me. It has a front end loader and rear AND mid PTO's. I pull a bush hog but don't ever see a need for the mid PTO. I would like REAR hyd also I wish manufacturers would wire a 12V outlet at the rear of the tractor but this can be done with a little planning and time. I like this model as the exhaust is under hood and has no muffler and pipe sticking up. The hood and fenders are steel and not plastic like a popular brand. I'm a happy owner.

Pros: 4X4, FEL, steel fenders and hood, enclosed exhaust.
Cons: light in the rear, a full bucket can lift the rear wheels.
