Bobcat 773G
I have a 773g with 1500 hrs. Which last week started smoking like a freight train and knocking like it had a bad rod bearing. I inquired about what the problem could be and was directed toward the injectors. I went ahead a pulled all four and had a company called diesel injection services bench test them. Two had poor spray patterns, one was partially clogged and the last was completely clogged. They said the main cause is water in the fuel system. That's what probably froze the primer bulb. So they rebuilt all four for $438.00 and I reinstalled them this morning. My baby is no longer smoking or knocking but purring like a bobcat. Happy, happy, happy!

Glad you got it up and running again. Did you address the water in fuel problem? Drain water out of the tank, replace the fuel filter?
Note: That little white thumb valve on bottom of the filter is there so you can check for water & drain it out of the filter as needed.

I'm pretty diligent about draining water via the valve on the bottom of the fuel filter but that doesn't mean the original owner was. When the problem first occurred I hooked up a line pump to the fuel tank and drained it completely and then filled it with fresh fuel. Damage was already done. I'm just happy it wasn't a rod bearing because that was exactly what it sounded like.
