Kioti CK2610HST Woods BB60XC
Howdy all. New to the site.

I'm researching a new tractor. The two leaders at this point are the Kioiti ck3510 hst vs the Kubota B2650 hsd. For a similar price the Kioti seems to win in almost every category. Better loader strength, dump height, heavier weight, and bigger pump size to name a few. I have driven the Kioti and I like it. Tomorrow I will test drive the Kubota.

It seems to me at this point that Kubota might have the better more established reputation, and I have read their parts are easier to come by then Kioti. However, I havent found much in the way of bad feedback for either.

I'm really torn between cab or no cab. I live in the mid atlantic so we have hot summers and cold winters, so the cab would be great for that. Also quieter operation, wind and rain protection, snow work, and not getting lit up by the occasional ground bee population is a plus... (for this reason alone the cab seems worth it!!) Can a backhoe still be used on either of these machines with a factory cab installed?

But I do want to do a fair amount of woods cleanup/maintenance with it. So I'm concerned about the glass. If I went for the cab I would cut down any low branches that could cause any problems. Most of my trees are mature hardwoods so theres not a ton of low limbs to begin with. I would really love to hear from you experienced cab guys about this issue.

The rest of the work will be keeping my 1200+ stone driveway in good shape, rotary cutting leaves/small brush/trails, and typical property chores.

Do these two tractors seem like a good choice for my work load?

For implements I'd love to get a claw grapple, a rotary cutter, and a grading scraper. Kubota seems to have a big advantage in the implement department since Land Pride has "perfomance matched" implements for every series and model Kubota has. For you Kioti folks, is there a resource or maker out there that specializes in Kioti compatable implements?

Thanks

The Kioti is a larger tractor so I am not surprised at what you're finding. Normally you'd want to compare similar sized tractors across brands -- so the Kubota L2501/3301/3901 models are a more appropriate match (though no factory cab on those models). Generally, you're going to get more for your money with Kioti but it may come down to which tractor you like better.

Both are fantastic. Cabs are awesome....you WILL NOT regret getting a cab. Not sure of many, if any, people I now regret that decision. When it comes to tractors I see a couple of regrets that are common.....one is just buying a tractor....making payments on something you don't use a lot. That is probably the #1 regret of the majority of regrets. The second most common regret is too small a tractor.

You will never be 100% satisfied because there are always situations where a different tractor would do the job at hand better.

So anyway, don't fret over it....get a cab, get he implements you want...get either the kubota or kioti, either of these you will be tickled to death with.

My first brand new equipment was this BX23s and the loader valves were cross threaded. I made the dealer come bring me a brand new tractor....it was a hassle but the dealer did that...some dealers would have told me to jump in a lake. The point being is both companies can have issues that are usually fairly small when it comes to a new unit that can be addressed easy enough. You can read on here until your eyes bleed. There are SO MANY opinions and detail over things it is incredible. Don't sweat it....get whichever one makes the best financial sense to you and go have fun.... oh yeah, and did I mention to get a cab?

I believe that Kioti is now offering a wide selection of implements that are made by Woods specifically for Kioti. Guessing that it is just paint and decals to go along with the Kioti looks. Really no different than Land Pride and Kubota other than Kubota now owns Land Pride.

Old red is right about everything but the cab. On that small of tractor you can reach the controls from the back and on the ground if you do not have a cab but you are blocked from doing this if you have a cab. I would never consider a cab on that small of tractor. Now if you are talking a larger tractor where reaching is not as easy anyway and probably more field work, i.e. less on and off a cab is really nice.

This is especially true for going in trees - it is so much easier without a cab and a lot less tree trimming as well.

I have had no problems the few times I have needed parts for my Kioti.

I chose Kioti over Kubota six years ago based on three things. First was lift capacity of the FEL. The Kioti lifted nearly half again as much as the same hp and more expensive Kubota. Second was price. The Kioti was slightly less expensive WITH THE PACKAGE I WANTED which included FEL, tiller, and trailer. Third, the Kioti was quite a bit heavier than the same hp and price Kubota.

Having said all that things may have changed in the past six years. To me the deciding factor would probably be the dealer.

On the other hand Kubota has an extremely high name recognition and resale. If you ever plan to upgrade or otherwise sell your tractor the Kubota probably has a higher resale value.

Also shop your dealer. No matter which one you chose a dealer can make all the difference. He must be the one to deal with any problems. And must know what he is doing and stay in business to support you. Buy from a long term established business if you possibly can. Even if you have to pay a little more. Otherwise they both good tractors with good parts support. But if your dealer cannot or will not get them for you then what good is a warranty anyway?

I picked Kioti over Kubota because of bang for your buck on the price and a few extras. As far as implements you can go with many different brands they don't have to be specifically manufactured by Kioti or land pride. I have run a couple of Every Attachments on my 4010 and they are awesome and heavy duty so check them out. No experience on the cab sorry, I think a cab would be nice but on that small of a tractor in might not be practical. If no one has told you this you can never have to much HP. I researched mine for months bit the bullet and 6 mos later I wish I had gone to 55 or 60HP, maybe it's just me but get whatever you can afford.

Brand:

The Kioti is a larger tractor so I am not surprised at what you're finding. I agree that to "play fair" you should compare the Kioti to the L Series. When we were shopping for ours that what we looked at (L3301 / 3901) This was pre Kioti XX10 series so the older CK's came standard with things that are options on the XX10 series (Rubber Mat, Extendable lift arms).

I think that feature for feature on level playing field you will still get your best dollar value from Kioti but there is noting inherently wrong/bad with Kubota either.

Size:
I also think you're in the right place size wise the 33 to 40 HP niche seems to be ideal for "Hobby Users". They are big enough to do some real work without being too large / unwieldy on smaller properties.

Since buying our CK35 back in 2014 the only 2 real things Dad & I have discussed doing different was HST over gear/shuttle and maybe stepping up to 40 HP

My reply to the larger tractor question is that our 35HP tractor will do the same job a CAT D9 Dozer will do - it will just take longer to do it.

Parts:
I have had no issues getting stuff from our purchasing dealer, the "local" dealer, or from Michigan Iron & Equipment (MIE) via mail order. So I would take that concern right off the list.

Implements:

As Brian (MtnViewRanch) said, a lot of the Kioti Orange equipment is actually made by Woods and any dealer should be able to help you out picking the correct size & "Duty rating" equipment for your needs (if not you can always come back here & ask. We love to spend other folks money. LOL).

Cab or No Cab:
Never had a cabbed tractor, we do a lot of mowing under smaller trees/saplings and still have a good little bit of wooded area that I still duck stuff on an open station so cab would mean a LOT of extra clearing for us. I can definitely see the benefit but it just wasn't a real consideration when we were shopping.

Best of luck to you whichever you pick.

I think a backhoe will tear that thing apart. Think twice before buying one. I have a CK2610 (same frame) and it's not built for backhoe work unless maybe you are lifting wood chunks onto the splitter deck.

Most likely you could find a well used mini X for the same money that you can beat the crap out of like it's supposed to be used.

Most guys with 3 point backhoes regret buying later on.
