Taxes for tractor shed or small barn

Good evening,

I am curious to know how much taxes you would have to pay in your state (or country) to get the permission for building a small one tractor shed or barn.

After having built it, does it generate an increase of your property yearly taxes ?

Is the tax situation different if you are an official farmer ?

I live in the Old World that's why I am asking odd questions !

Around here it depends on the cost/size value of the building for taxes, The permit is based on the estimated cost of the building.... Anything that brings up the value gets taxed....

IF IT IS FARM EXEMPT IN SOME STATES THERE IS NO NEED FOR A PERMIT AND NO OR LOW PROPERTY TAX.

I had a steel 30x40 foot shop building put up a couple of years ago. So:

Building permit $100
Electrical permit $50
Annual property taxes about $100
Annual insurance $100

How tax appraisers value some items are a mystery to me. I keep my mouth shut as they are usually quite low on these. (out buildings, water wells, septic systems) Homes they value at reasonable $ to market value.

Interesting.
It it the same system in my country.
Everything more than 5 square meters is taxed and brings up your home value up.

Around here, farmers too need a permit but there are no building taxes or property taxes increase.

So many taxes !

Here for a 15x15 foot shed for firewood (4 poles and a steel roof) they say it is a "carport" and I have to pay 400 $ plus an increase of annual proprety taxes 50 $ plus insurance ??? $

Here there is no permitting needed for any structure on Ag. Exempt property UNLESS there is a concrete floor. Then, said building becomes a new structure & a permit is required. Which triggers an appraisal, thereby, causing a tax increase.

I have a dirt floor “Barn”, legally a stable, with several covered sheds (again without flooring) with no increase in taxes but great increase in property value.

I do believe in supporting our State Farm Bureau, that facilitates county & local tax structures that protect our farm way of life from gov’t intrusion.
