Has anybody put a Woods BH6000 on a Mahindra 2615?
I'm picking one up 2nd hand that has never seen dirt.
It comes with a 3 pt mount. Wondering if sub frame is necessary or if I could get by with a 3 pt hitch mount?

I have a woods b-70x on a 2015. I would strongly recommend, (and I'm not alone) using a subframe. Not only is it much easier to mount and dismount, but it takes almost all of the abuse off of the tractor. No matter how careful you are, the hoe WILL throw the tractor around alot. Last summer, I helped repair a New Holland 2120 (43 HP) that had snapped all the bell housing bolts and literally broke in half, due to a 3point backhoe (and to be fair, an idiot operator)

Think of it this way. All that weight and those digging forces being held in place by those little bolts on the 3 point top-link bracket, and the force being put on the transmission case and bell housing bolts. That may be OK on a big AG tractor, but not a compact.

ditzel,
can you fab a subframe? If not, price out the subframe that is compatible with your tractor/loader. On my 10 series, Bradco was the OEM supplier and I got a gift of the tractor portion of the subframe. I purchased the section that mated to the hoe and it was a fairly easy adapting it to my 3pt backhoe. Woods may even have a subframe for your tractor.

Woods does make a subframe for that tractor. It's pretty much just like the one on my 2015. Its a real easy bolt-on. It's very heavy duty. And it's compatible with the loader. You don't even need to remove the loader to install it.

Also, the rear part (where it hooks to the backhoe) are 2 vertical plates with bolt holes. Easily adaptable to most backhoes. That's definitely your best bet.

thanks for the replies,
A few weeks ago I was looking at a Mahindra 2615 w/ 3710 BH & subframe on it at a local dealer to get some ideas on making a homemade sub frame. It looked like the whole subframe had to be removed to use the 3pt hitch. I 'm gonna call around to a few woods dealers after I get the BH home here next weekend for some prices on their proper sub frame.
Driver444, does the subframe interfere with your 3 pt hitch when the bh is removed?

ditzel..

That's the best part of the woods subframe. When the dealer installed my backhoe, he handed me a box of parts containing my whole 3point hitch assembly. I got discouraged, but after close examination, I realized he didn't have to do that..

The instruction manual for the subframe DID say to remove the arms. I assume that's why the dealer did it, but again, didn't have to.

You can leave the whole 3PH on the tractor, except the top-link (because it hits the backhoe seat during the mount and dismount). IT DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH THE SUBFRAME IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER, as long as you leave it in the fully-up position. I take the hoe on and off all the time, and never have to remove the arms.

Keep in mind, I have a 2015, not a 2615, but I do believe the rear-end assembly is the same, and can't see why it wouldn't be the same for you.

The woods really is a nice set-up. 3 pins, and a little fancy work with the stabilizers, and its on. Only takes 5 minutes after you've done it a couple times.

Also, If you buy the Woods subframe, (which I definitely would) Install it yourself. It's a piece of cake. You just share two of the loader mount bolts on each side up front, and replace 3 or 4 rear axle case bolts on each side with longer ones, through the bracket. Real easy. It couldn't take an hour. I wish I knew that before.

Forgot to add...

You do remove the lower pins for the 3 point hitch, ONLY because the new subframe bracket has new pins on it. After that, put your arms back on, and that's it.

I'll try to get some pics on here.

Driver, I'm anxious to see that setup too. Do you find the BH70x to be well matched for your 2015 size? Did you have to mount extra weights on the front? ( I notice that they do when that BH is mounted on the Kubota B7xxx series) Thanks!

Yeah, I do find that it's well matched. The tractor holds it well, and carries it well. I have a gear drive, and don't notice that its any harder on the clutch carrying the extra weight. It just feels like you have a box blade on the back. The 2015 is a VERY heavy tractor for the HP though.
A 2615 would have no problem at all.

It does make the front a little light. In extreme cases, if you let the clutch out too quick, it will bounce the front end. But it still steers, and handles well.

It sometimes LOOKS a little out of proportion, but who cares, right? Overall, it works terrific. The stabilizers keep the tractor in place, and only the most stubborn stumps will move it. Pretty rare overall. I have the 16 inch bucket, and use a PTO pump setup. Having to do it all over again, I'd do it the same. Very happy with it.

P.S. DITZEL, pardon my screen name. I work nights, and that's what people call me...
