I have a Ford 1700 but proofmeter is all but dead. Nothing on it works. Does anyone have info on how this is hooked up/wired? A diagram would be very helpful but I'll take any assistance so I can check this out and see if I can get it working again.

Proof meter is totally mechanical on 1700. I'd check the cable making sure it is completely seated. Look at the pics. they are self explanatory. let us know if you have questions.

Why would this tractor need a "proof meter", what function does it serve ?
I've played with computer controlled diesels with auto start/stop that needed "proof" that it was running, but on a tractor ?
