Trailered M59 300 miles

Well, I was dreading it, I had only towed it 35 miles previous. I have a 2500 Dodge cummins diesel and a PJ 25 ft tandem 12,000 # axels. It went better than expected. On the four lane and inter state speed was approximate 70 to 75 miles an hr. I was probably worried more about the Dodge 2500 pulling the load more than anything. Also bieng from the mountains of Easter Ky. I had to pull it up some pretty large hills.

Probably just the workout the Dodge needed. I tow my stuff on a 20' Big Tex with an old '94 Cummins Dodge w/stick shift. Never noticed an issue yet; though my runs are usually 25 miles or less. I think the biggest stress is the stopping and starting at country intersections and through little towns. Once it gets rolling on the Interstate, the Dodge is at home.

Thanks, I had a 99 cummins dodge that was great and got better fuel milage, but sold at 165,00 miles. This one is 2004 with 94,000 miles. Probably should have kept the 99.

That M59 tractor is pretty big. How much does it weigh? Must be pretty convenient to have a 3/4 ton diesel truck.

The M59 weighs about 8344.5 Lbs. My tires are loaded too so thats an extra 1150Lbs. Yea, I already had the truck and was hoping it would not take a dually one ton truck.

You sure about that? I thought the L39 was about that weight. Or does it not have a hoe on the back and a loader on the front? Those would add about 3000 to 4000 more pounds~! Please post back, as I would like to know how badly i was mistaken...

L39 weighs 6,987 Lbs according to the Kubota web site and M59 8,344.5 Lbs. That's with loader-backhoe and rops/fops. Loaded tires would add approximate 575Lbs per tire if liquid.

Dealer told me my backhoe/loader 59 weighed about 9,300# (with fluids and fuel but no tire ballast).
