First day of school

I was a little nervous about how she would do but Ava started Pre-K today and had a lot of fun there. She is only in half day classes this year but took to school like she had been there before. Overall I am happy for her but not excited about not being able to see her as often. But she is happy and that is what matters

How many others are sending their kids to school for the first time?

It's kind of sad that they don't seem to miss you as much as you miss them. But it's all part of them growing up.

My oldest just did her first full day of Kindergarten this week. She had fun - it's all good (just keep telling yourself that)!

What a cutey!! I remember sending our oldest off to his first day: We fought back tears and he never looked back! Now, as my wife and I wonder when the grandchildren will come, we look forward to our kids having the same experiences(even the "payback" part).

Nice picture. Take another one next year on the first day of school and each year after that. We make it a tradition at our house. Neat to see how they grow by comparing pictures at the same time each year. Some years its bright and sunny, others cold and damp. But each year smiles and excitement.

How many others are sending their kids to school for the first time?

Well, for me it's been over 30 years ago, 37 years for one and 34 years for the other, but I haven't ever forgotten those days and you won't either.

Robert, your beautiful little girl is growing up before your ( and our ) very eyes. It is sad but it's another page in her life. It's great that you are able to enjoy her and be with her all of the time.

I remember sending my oldest daughter off to school on her first day. Her brother (1 year younger) cried, and cried, saying "I'll never be old enough to go to school" He was 38 last month.

Robert, time just put on a jet pack and before you know it you'll be walking Ava down the isle.

I know, it doesn't seem like 4 years have passed since she was born but she fills my days and makes them all enjoyable. The old saying "time flies when your having fun" is true sadly.

Hmmm.... lets talk again in a few more years. A few years ago my oldest challenged me to a 1/4 mile cross country ski sprint. She beat me by 40 yards and was laughing loudly as I choked on the cold air searing my lungs. Then we went home and she beat me in a game of chess. Stronger AND smarter. She was 12!

Robert, take it from me... you are doomed!

That sure brings back memories. I think my youngest was also about 12 the first time she beat me at chess, and she was so happy and excited you'd have thought she'd just won a millioin dollars.
