I have plowed my lane for seven years with a atv. Just recently purchased a
new BX1850 & sold the atv. I"m beginning to regret getting rid of the atv. I am using a rear mounted blade for moving snow. Every time it snows I cringe. It is very fustrating and time consuming, it now takes me longer to do the task & it looks like crap. Need suggestions. I'm seriously considering dealing the BX on a atv.
How's the BX1850 doing by now ? Did you get things worked out with it ?

We have not had much snow to speak of. I have done a little more forum reading and tweaking of my set up. It'll get me thru this winter, but I'll have to find a better set up for next winter. I've got a line on a set of front suitcase weights and have priced out a set of R4 tires. I can't believe how cheap BX tires are compared to ATV tires.

I would go with AGs over R4s for better snow traction .
With the AGs you probably won't need chains like you may with R4s.
If you're still going to need chains on R4s I'd just chain up the turfs and forget switching tires period.

When I bought the 2 BX1500s they both had turfs but I had the dealer swap the turfs for AGs on the one I had him put the front blade and rear tiller on
Didn't cost me any extra for the swap.

Best of luck getting it all worked out.

Keep us posted.

Sorry my mistake. I was pricing out Bar tires not R4's. R4 are not listed for my application and I belive the rubber compound would be too hard for winter applications.

Just to keep you updated. I have since purchased a set of bar tires for the bx & it is one of the best purchases I have made. The bar tires hook up & provide the traction I need. Along with a longer centre link to change the cutting angle of the blade, it makes a world of difference. I have yet to get the front weights but that may wait until I have the time and the weather gets a little nicer.

Howdy:
I was just wondering about you and the BX1850 the other day so it was good to hear from you.

Glad you're glad about that.
I told you the BX could do it , glad for you that I was right.

The plow was second hand, but was never installed or used. The quick hitch
was new in box. Some assembley required.
