I was clearing some land with bushhog and grapple and heard a very loud snap that did not sound like a limb snapping. Then I saw a hydraulic geyser up front. The top cylinder that works the curling part for the bucket had snapped the rod in half.
I have no idea how that happened. I was pulling on a rather large vine at the time. The bracket that the rod attaches too was bent and thats what prolly put the pressure on the rod, but man, that's about a 1 inch rod, and that bracket was pretty darn thick metal too...can't figure out how it happened. May have bent the bracket knocking down a tree a few minutes (or seconds) earlier and the rod couldn't come out of the cylinder right so it just snapped it.
But have have been working the snot outta that thing lately, so I reckon stuff does break
Took it off and dropped it off at the local hydraulic shop to get it rebuilt this afternoon.
