Kero and fuel/home heating oil are 2 different things.

Kero and diesel are 2 different things.

Fuel oil diesel amd home heating oil are all the same thing.

I bought one of the GPI EZ-8 pumps from Tractor Supply (around $200.00) to pump the fuel oil into two 55 gallon drums and transfer to our tank. I wasn't sure how this pump was going to work due to the duty cycle of 15 minutes on/30 minutes off, but it ended up working great and I didn't really need a larger pump. I installed a 12 volt outlet using a trailer wiring plug onto the tractor to run the pump. It would fill up both drums within the 15 minutes and by the time we got back to our house enough time had elapsed and it pumped both drums into our tank. Repeated this trip twice and then took the whole tank with the loader. So I spent $200.00 on a pump and got 250 gallons of fuel oil and a tank in good condition. Now I have a pump to fill up the tractor. A pretty good investment in my opinion.

Had the furnace man check it out and he said it would be fine for our furnace. Should save us some money this winter. Thanks everyone.

Terry
If it's for your furnace it is diesel fuel which is more than likely the same thing as fuel oil also called home heating oil.

We only have one fuel here for home furnaces and engines
It goes by all the following Names.:
On road diesel
Off road diesel
Home heating oil
Fuel oil.
It may be red or some other color.
It may be taxed or un taxed.
All of it will work fine in your home furnace and your tractor.
They are all # 1 or #2 depending on if it's winter or summer.

If it's for your home furnace or your tractor it's the above.

If it's for small portable heaters camping stoves and the like it's kerosene.

It is either #1 or #2 fuel oil. Don't know for sure and don't care because our heater will burn either. Yes, we do have 2 250 gallon tanks now. Ours probably only had about 50 gallons in it because the oil man hasn't come yet. We filled ours up which is mounted beside the house and put the other one out by the shed where the tractor stays. When we get the one by the shed empty I will have the oil man keep about 40 to 50 gallons of #2 in it for the tractor.
