Stuck Grease Gun on Grease Nipple. Need help removing it.

I have an adjustable, and I believe that may be the problem. I'll have to dig around and find the cheap non-adjustable that I never did have a problem with - it must have a 'loose' coupler.

Just adjust your new one to be a tad loose..

I have been using grease guns for more than 60 years and all chuck type tips are made about the same way. Originally it was expected that you would replace the interior jaws when they wore and would not grip properly. Now with our throw away society I doubt that you can get those pieces any more.

I remember that in the early years, the Alemite grease chucks always worked unless they were too worn and then they would not hold. I suspect that the problems today are quality ones having to do with the manufacture of the fittings and the chucks both and some combinations are always going to be a problem.

All good grease gun couplers are adjustable..in that you can loosen the end. I've bought couplers that came so tight I had to use vise grips to free up.

I've found that the Plews couples are very simply to tighten and untighten, I bought a couple of Lincoln couplers that were four times as expensive and I had to us channel locks to break them apart, they were sealed with something red that looked like loctite. The plews had three fingers that slid up and down and released very easy, the Lincoln's never did release well.
You don't always get more by paying more.

I've used a slip on angle adapter for some of the fittings on the u-joints on my batwing... works great.

I think the one pictured above is a button grease fitting, not a zerk type. There are actually a couple of different types of grease fittings.
