Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone had a template for DIY service work that would keep everything together for warranty purposes in case an issue would arise. I printed one off the internet years ago when I ran a JD 4320 for work and was able to keep good records on my own.
Thanks
Aron

Dated receipts.

If you have like an "engine issue", a receipt proves zero. They [mfg] will pull a UOA since a receipt prove you bought something, not installed etc. They want to see the wears etc on the oil at hand.

Depending on who your oil supplier is you might be able to get free maintenance folders from them. I get free folders from TRC to give out to customers that have spaces for major component model numbers, capacity's and sections for tires, batteries, scheduled maintenance and a section for other maintenance. Might try checking with your lubricants distributor.

In warranty period, I kept an envelop with dated torn off lables from the oil filters, hydraulic filters and receipts, etc. If a mfg is going to deny that, they will lose in court as reasonable people will understand that you bought something and probably used it as you tore the box up and kept it.

A quality company won't try those weeny tactics. (usually!)

One might reasonably argue that a receipt from a "dealer" does not prove it was done, just that it was charged for parts and alleged labor. A jury or a reasonable person would object to that argument. Common sense is more common than you might expect. I use receipts as evidence that oil and filter have been changed on my car. No one would claim in the event of an engine failure that the oil and filters were not used, just purchased.
