Unions served a valuable purpose when working conditions were unsafe and downright dangerous, and people were getting maimed and killed on the job for lousy wages.
Now the unions have gone from being a help for the worker to a big (not sole) reason companies offshore jobs to third world rat-holes.
Also, my feeling is that a worker who busts his/her hump more than the next guy/gal should be rewarded with better pay and assignments than the worker who puts out less effort. Unions encourage mediocrity.
Somebody has to buy what you build----if you are not willing and able to buy what you build how can you expect to stay in business---The one Big Thing Henry Ford was able to do with the assembly line was to make a product that his employee's could afford to buy-----Can many of the third world plant workers afford to buy what they build---our US propaganda campaign would have you think they can't---- As said earlier FAIR TRADE AND FREE TRADE ARE NOT THE SAME THING---until we are willing to pay more for our products so that our friends and relatives CAN enjoy a FAIR standard of living!!That said do you know how many 9n's etc was built in Ireland etc and shipped into the US unknown to anyone but the manufactor----Many compaines in the last 50 years were able to "Hide" were the products were really built or made and make a high profit---They got use to the "High" profit and now can not cut the "Fat" out as the playing field levels out----Eat and use what you make and everything will work out---DO NOT depend on someone else to buy what you make for an extra high price nor should you expect someone to build something just so you can buy it CHEAP.
