I can't remember off the top of my head how much my 48" xb weighs but I moved it the other day for the first time without the loader on and the front end was way to light with it raised. Also I would recommend going with at least the 40" cut. you won't have any problems, that is the size that Kubota recommends.

I was thinking about a 48'' BH for my BX1500 so I could back out over ditiches and road banks to keep them trimed off.
Was afraid doing that would flip the tractor over backwards so gave up on getting a BH.
I think my idea of hanging a mower off the 3 point is better safer and easier to use anyway.

I use a landpride 48" BH with my 2230 and the only time I would suggest not having the loader on or some weight's up front is if you are Never going to be on ANY kind of incline or downgrade.The best result of not adding front ballast would be learning the meaning of pucker power,the worst well we won't go there.
