i've drained the fuel, blew through the lines and didn't spot any air leaks. The problem still consistently remains....any suggestions on the next step? I desperately need to get the tractor going again and seem to be stuck. Thanks for the help!!

Have someone watch the throttle linkage at the injection pump; as you increase throttle from an idle to 1500 RPMs, make sure your linkage continues past the 1500 RPM position. If it does, your problem lies in the pump or injectors. You said you loosened injector lines at injectors; did it run different when you loosened each one? If it did, that injector is probably good; if you loosened one and there was no engine change, that one is suspect.

When the fittings above each injector were loosened, it began to run roughly. So I don't think that the injectors are a problem. As the throttle is advanced from idle, it continually gains RPM but reaches 1500 at max throttle. Idle is smooth and throttle advance seems smooth as well. JUST NO POWER. Is the govenor suspect?

Yes. I would suspect the govenor. Or a physical blockage of it. I think the gov is internal.

Have you called your local dealer and spoken to a service tech?

Could the throttle linkage slipped? Can you remove the linkage at pump and manually advance RPM over 1500? All fuel line connections tight? Air in system can create problems.

Connect a small can of diesel with a hose to fuel inlet of the filter or pump. See if it runs better. I'll bet you inadvertantly put gas in the tank. that is the symptom your describing. Drain fuel from bowl and smell it very carefully as it will be mixed with diesel.

I'll drain the bowl and connect some fresh diesel.....i'm quite sure that no gasoline is in the lines, but better to verify than not. The throttle body is held on by four bolts. Is taking that off and isnpecting what is suggested above? I've ordered the Shop Manual but it'll take a week or so to arrive. So is there a way to test if the govenor is limiting the RPMs?

I talked to a mechanic and he said he's seen a similar case with a broken govenor spring. Anybody here ever had any Kubota govenor experience. I've ordered the shop manual, but trying to gauge how involved getting to govenor would be. The manual won't get here till Friday so any help before then is appreciated.

Any update/progress on the problem?

I took the injectors out and cleaned them.....man those orifices are small. actually i never saw them. i put them back in and problem still there. I took the speed control plate off (behind the throttle) and also had to remove plate that oil refill hole is.....and sure enough outer govenor spring was broken. My dealer didn't have in stock but it's on order. I'll update once she's running like she's supposed to. Any ideas why the spring would snap like it did? Thanks to all for the help.
