Trailer brake polarity

I need to hook up the brakes on a trailer I have been building. I left two wires for this purpose. I assume one is a ground and the other is hot. Is there a way to measure continuity so as not to get the wires confused? I know that it does not matter polarity wise but I need to ID the wire as to get them the same on each side.

there should be continuity between the wires for each side (ie: LH A to LH B will have a connection, however LH anything to RH anything wont), as you said polarity doesnt matter.
are the wires not run in pairs (by side)??

Pick one wire off of each brake magnet and tie them all into the white ground wire. Take the remaining wire on the brake magnet and tie it into your hot brake wire (usually blue).

Both wires are white with about a 8 inches cut off at the hub. I am going to do a complete trailer rewire. I was just wondering if one would ohm to ground, and one would be the resistance of the magnet. Then I would know the separation. I am just trying to figure which one should be hooked up to the blue. Then I will just parallel them across.

it doesn't matter which goes to which wire, as long as you have one hooked to + and one hooked to -, they are pretty much just an electromagnet, power goes in one end and out the other.
