I could swear this has already been discussed here, but my searches didnt show anything, so sorry if this has already been beat to death. But I was thinking about replacing my JD FEL snow blade edge with a pressure treated board. I wanted to try this first to see how it worked rather than getting an expensive poly board and it wind up not working well. I have 2-3 driveways in my subdivision that I help out plowing, all paved asphalt but one, and the common driveway is chip-n-tar. The common driveway makes me hesitate on spending for a poly board until I see if the concept would work on a chip-n-tar surface, and how long it would last, by using a PT board first.
I tried the horse stall mat route on my BB, but that didnt work very well. The mat probably was not thick enough.
