I have a ford 1100 with 7-16 ag tires. The specs are basically a 16x6in rim, 29.3 in overall tire diam, load cap of 1100. I am looking for turf tires and having a real hard time finding them in my neck of the woods, since Firestone discontinued the 23x8.50-12's.

Then I twigged just how common a rim size this is, and started looking at light truck tires. I found an agressive offroad tire that fits a 6 inch wide rim, in a 225/75/r16 spec. The tire diam is 29.4, so I dont believe it is enough to concern myself with messing up my 4wd ratio. The load capacity is much higher than my current tires, no problem there. So what am I missing ????. This is too easy to actually work out :p

I'f you've matched rolling circumference.. then you should be ok.. remember.. the reduced tread will likely slip more anyway..

Ditto what Soundguy says. I have used the truck tires on several grey market tractors that had the same issue. Your little tractor is a US model of the same tractors I put the tires on.

I'm trying to do the same thing. Is there a decent website that compares tire diameters?

If you go to Firestone's Ag tire site and lookup a tire and ask to view full specs you will see all kinds of dimensions including rolling circumferences.

You can use Front Tractor 3 Rib Tires F2's in the sizes of 6.50-16 or 7.50-16. Overall Diameter is within the 7% allowed by your drives. The size choice is your preference.

3 Rib probably wouldn't be the best tire for a 4wd though. Should allow plenty of driveline slippage.:D Just goes to show, don't believe everything you read on the Internet - even if they claim to be a professional.:p:rolleyes:
