Anyone have feedback on Smyth blowers? I can pick up a new 60LS for around $1800, thanks.

OK anyone heard anything about them??

I'd never heard of them, but looked them up and they appear to be a ruggedly built rig! They are saying that they have 1/2" reinforced endplates, 4 bladed fan, bolt on cutting edge, has grease fittings for the bearings, and weighs in at 480 lbs. Most blowers are pretty easy to work on and not a lot to go wrong with them. I'd say that if you can get a 60" cut for $1800.00 new, you're doing o.k. What will it be going on? Dyer, retired

Dyer, thanks for your reply, it will go on my JD 3320, I figure I have plenty of HP for a 5 foot blower.

I hadn't heard of Smyth blowers until your post, but have seen a couple of people on TBN now talking about owning them. I'm surprised you haven't had more responses from owners? I'd say you have plenty of tractor to run the blower you're looking at. My neighbor picked up a Pronovost 60" blower new this summer for just under $1800.00. It's a very nice rig and well built. Those blowers went up (around here anyway) to $2000.00 or more since the price of steal went up mid-summer. I don't know what the price of steal is doing now, but suspect that it isn't going down. Let us know what you decide and good luck. Dyer, retired

Steel prices have gone down big time the last two months-slowing worldwide economy!

I compared it to the meteor and it weighs almost a hundred pounds more so I went ahead and got it, I will be home from Iraq in Dec so I'm hoping for a big snow LOL

Congratulations on your purchase, I'll be anxious to hear how it performs this winter. Not sure if you can say what you're doing in Iraq, but suspect that clearing snow will be a welcome change? Dyer, retired

Like everything, the fall in steel prices is slower than the rise in prices was. Either way, I think the price DuckKlr69 was quoting for the Smyth was good one. Dyer, retired
